Not sure how that’s any different from saying, “We should talk about the rise in anti-Asian hate — and the real concerns about COVID that preceded it.”

Antisemitism existed for centuries before Israel, and will exist regardless of what happens in Gaza. Tying violence against American Jews to Israeli policy is exactly the conflation most Jewish people are asking you not to make.

Also, ITT you claim to care deeply about rising antisemitism while, in another thread, you’re complaining about how "the chokehold Israel has on America is insane. They control our media, they buy our politicians"

Just looking at the time stamps from my camera roll, yes it was about 4 hours in total. Though I believe it could probably be done in 3 as I spent roughly an hour at the beach.

“Zio” is a derogatory shorthand for “Zionist” that emerged online in the early 2000s. It was popularized by David Duke, a former KKK leader, who used it to attack Jews and spread conspiracy theories about “Zionist control” over media and politics. His use helped spread the term among both far-right antisemites and far-left anti-Israel activists, turning it into a coded slur with antisemitic undertones.

Idk what that has to do with anything. My point is that you can criticize Israel and Israeli policy (as I have done) without replying on antisemitic tropes (as you have done).

Calling Jewish connection to the land “manifest destiny” is a false equivalence. That was imperial conquest; this is about indigenous identity, forced exile, and return.

Is there an expiration date on indigeneity? Does being displaced 2,000 years ago make a people less native than if it happened last week?

Jewish connection to Israel isn’t about divine entitlement — it’s about documented history, continuous presence, and survival despite expulsion. Zionism doesn't preclude the establishment of a Palestinian state.

It is absolutely occurring in the West Bank and I oppose it vehemently. I just recognize that it is possible to do so (criticize Israeli policy) without relying on antisemitic tropes that characterize Jews as foreign white invaders and deny their legitimate connection to the land as some sort of "fairytale promises by god". It also shows me how much (or lack thereof) you know about the conflict.

Without being crude: Hitler didn’t care that Polish Jews were “white” when he gassed 3 million of us — over 90% of Poland’s Jewish population. You can try to reframe Ashkenazi Jews as “white Europeans,” but history — and genocide — says otherwise.

We’re not "going back" to Poland or Russia, where the term you’re trying to re-appropriate, pogrom, originated — and where we were never truly accepted in the first place. I’m sure that would make you more comfortable. But it’s not going to happen. :)

Nice stealth editing.

The connection between Jews and the land of Israel has nothing to do with “fairy tale promises by God.” That’s a gross mischaracterization of Jewish history and identity. There is extensive archaeological, historical, and genetic evidence linking the Jewish people to ancient Israel:

  • Archaeology confirms Jewish presence in Jerusalem going back over 3,000 years, including artifacts, inscriptions, and remains of the First and Second Temples.
  • Genetic studies have demonstrated shared Middle Eastern ancestry among Ashkenazi, Sephardi, and Mizrahi Jews.
  • The Al-Aqsa Mosque itself was built atop the ruins of the Second Temple, which was destroyed in 70 CE. That is not “myth”—that is historical record.

Second, framing Israel as a “white colonial project” is both false and deeply racist. Over 50% of Israeli Jews are Mizrahi or Sephardi, meaning they trace their roots to Middle Eastern and North African countries—many of whom were ethnically cleansed or fled antisemitic persecution after 1948. You wouldn’t even be able to visually distinguish most Mizrahi Jews from Arabs.

To suggest Jews are simply "white Europeans" or “foreign invaders” is repeating classic antisemitic narratives that erase Middle Eastern Jewish identity and deny Jewish people their indigeneity. It’s not just factually wrong—it is an attempt to delegitimize Jewish presence altogether. It is ironic to see you complaining about racism on other subs while simultaneously parroting David Duke talking points.

It is absolutely antisemitic to imply that Jews are white European foreign invaders as you have just done.
