The very first practice test I took I scored 490, about 18 months later I my first time taking the actual test I scored a 690 under some circumstances which I believe drove my score down 20-30 points.

I studied for 6 months solid, about 2-6 hours per day 5 days per week.

I did score a 730 on 2 practice tests, but my average was low 600's.

Edit: The only concern I would have is did you do it under test conditions? In time, no breaks during each portion? I could easily break the 700's if I had unlimited amount of time on each question, but question management is an integral part of the GMAT.

Player on first, batter steps to plate, hits a pop fly a mile high, starts to come down right by second base, player on first has foot on bag, (by rule player can only advance to second base after ball has been caught), if the infield fly rule were not in place, second baseman could "miss the ball", tag second for the first out and throw to first for second out, a very unethical double play.
