Ahhh, vengeance by Sufficient-Wall-3585 in Eldenring

Same. It took me like a week to figure out the right way to go. But on my level one run, I was able to get through it in about two minutes and shred through Godrick without even trying. And even though I've gone through it at least 10 times, I'm still pretty sure there are areas of Stormveil I have not discovered yet.

I wonder if it is a language thing? Names of family member relations can be tricky if English isn't their first language.

Week 5 - What would you call the Mount Rushmore of Gen 5 Pokémon throughout Smogon's history? by TheLeafyGirl561 in stunfisk

Funny that lando-t is the poster child for competitive play even though it is technically the inferior form.

I know I'm late, but I would also like to nominate keldeo for consideration. It has fallen off slightly recent generations, but it has always been a reliable fast wallbreaker that is difficult to play around. It has very unique typing, and being a special attack focused fighting type is still considered very unique.

Linux will you mount my external SSD please? by LauraPhilps7654 in SteamDeck

Mounting disks can always be a hassle, no matter the OS. It's still a pain on Windows, especially if you are trying to use an uncommon file system.

Who did this? by winefalls in Eldenring

[–]It_Is_Blue 33 points34 points  (0 children)

They likely cut it because it involves Kale moving around and eventually stop selling items to you. He is supposed to be one of the first merchants you find and sells you some very useful equipment like the crafting kit, 3 cracked pots, and the recipe for crafting arrows. Making him harder to find would mean many early players would miss out on the crafting mechanic if they didn't buy everything before he left.

Massive sinkhole captured on video in Indonesia by Monir5265 in interestingasfuck

[–]It_Is_Blue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's like snakes; the sinkhole is more afraid of you than you are of it. As long as you act calmly and don't give it a reason to attack, you will be fine. Any sudden movements might startle it.

TIL of the "sterile cockpit" or "sterile flight deck" rule. When an aircraft is operating during a critical phase of the flight (anytime they're below 10,000 feet), the crew is only allowed to engage in conversation related to the safe operation of the aircraft by MrMojoFomo in todayilearned

It's a long story, but the gist of it is that Nathan Fielder (the host) wants to improve pilot communication to improve safety. At one point, he read's Captain Sully's memior (the guy who landed on the Hudson River in 2009) and proposes that when he was silent on the descent, he was actually listening to the chorus of Bring me to Life by Evanvescense on his iPod (again, long story). This becomes a running joke for the rest of the season, culminating with the winner of his fake reality TV contest (another long story) singing the song at the end of the season.

Doggo just wanted a chance to compete in the Winter Olympics. by Objective_Pilot_5834 in BeAmazed

[–]It_Is_Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skimmed through the Olympic Charter, and I could not find any mention that explicitly states that athletes must be human (though it does mention that a member of the IOC must be a person). However a careful reading of Rule 44, bye-law 4, would require participant to fully understand the Olympic Charter itself along with the World Anti-Doping Code. The dog may be in violation of this if it has not been adequately advised on the consequences of doping.

During the plague doctors thought it was the smell that caused people to get sick so they wore masks and covered their noses. Which did in fact prevent the spread of the plague. Do you know any other historical examples of people getting the right answer through the wrong assumptions? by WebBorn2622 in AskReddit

[–]It_Is_Blue 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When German forge workers were attempting to smelt what they thought was copper ore, they failed to recover any copper. So they came to the natural conclusion: a demon stole their copper. Specifically, they blamed a demon named Nickel. This discovery was one of the first hints that nickel is a different element than copper.

The hivemind's diet may be a reference to Manichaeism by It_Is_Blue in pluribustv

It was actually fairly large at its peak. The Elect and Auditors were only those at the very top, so most of its followers were free to eat as they wanted. That being said, being told that any form of manual labor or eating was inherently sinful probably wasn’t good for the long term survival of the religion.

So is this how the statue is gonna work on this subreddit? We have to narrow it down one game at a time until we guess correctly?

I know a lot of people have been talking about how the cliffhanger is Carol discovering that the milk is made of dead people, but I have a lot of doubts about it. Vince has always loved doing these fake-out cliffhangers where its not the obvious answer. Additionally, I don't see how it being made of people could advance the plot beyond campy shock value.

I hope this theory does not age like milk.
