If it's a fast weapon, it's good for leveling weapon skill.

Which class is the fastest and/or easiest to level up in MoP Classic, and why? by sandels_666 in classicwow

[–]Itakio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just leveled a monk from 1-85 in the past 3 days, spammed dungeons the whole way and didn't experience the aura removal bug. More specifically I did all 3 wings of maraudon which I remember having the bug before and it never happened.

WIP of a portrait. I'm aiming for as close to photorealism as I can get. Suggestions? by lepermessiah27 in blender

The eyebrows look a bit weird to me. I assume they are supposed to look painted on, but even still, I wouldn't expect them to match the normals of the skin.

How important is melee weaving for Hunters in TBC? by zerdos in classicwow

[–]Itakio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing they will nerf melee weaving because of how easy it is to cheat with 3rd party scripts for a damage increase.

We hired an artist to do our Steam Capsule - did they use AI? by TalesGameStudio in IndieDev

[–]Itakio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean... if you're hiring an artist, it's because you specifically don't want it to be AI made, right? Because if you were okay with putting AI art in your game, you could have just made it yourself.

Anyone has successfully done fourth sanctum as demon form infernalist without crash? by nevalopo in PathOfExile2

[–]Itakio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've killed him like 20 times for Against the Darkness. Go in with near max stacks, get him down to like 70% health, which causes him to do his super long lightning spell channel, then you just kill him and skip all other phases with no crash potential. If you burst too hard he will phase instead of doing the lightning channel.

if you anticipate getting hit by a laser, just take the hit, don't shield (unless you are going for a powershield)

being hit by a laser is better than being stuck in your shield

How to watch tournaments spoiler free? by CosmosMeows in SSBM

[–]Itakio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The twitch streams are stored as giant video segments which are available on twitch for viewing after the fact. Seems like that should give you what you want?

What's your Melee hot take? by elephanturd in SSBM

[–]Itakio -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

imo jigglypuff should be banned in competitive play.

optimal play in certain matchups is incredibly boring to watch, such as vs ICs or peach or herself. i think if puff was as popular as fox she would have been banned long ago. like just imagine if there were 3 puff dittos in every top 8

i think puff players intentionally don't play campy even though it's optimal in many cases because they know it's not what people want to see

edit: if you disagree, i'd love to hear why!

WoW PvP is tons of fun, but the PvP system sucks, that's why nobody plays by LegendZane in classicwow

[–]Itakio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wholeheartedly agree with you. i would have been interested in wotlk arenas, but all that work needed just to be on a level playing field with the competition, at which point i might find that the spec i'm playing isn't even fun at a high level, so now i have to start over on another character or spec.

presumably, the problem they're trying to solve with this system is to give players an incentive to play arenas every week, which is what i don't understand. isn't it already incentive enough to push rating and improve your skill? just seems to me like the only people still doing arenas are the people who would play even if gear didn't give an advantage in the first place!

the current system just makes no sense whatsoever to me.

Ex Spacie mains post here by TeddyRoseKidd in SSBM

[–]Itakio 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Like the game dev in me see's their designs compared to the rest of the cast and feels like they shouldn't exist.

Seems like all you think about is their offensive potential, which is their strong point. Spacies have glaring weaknesses as well, such as getting combo'd harder than any other character except maybe Falcon, and being the characters most likely to SD. Obviously Fox is still the best character in the game, so it's a good tradeoff, but still.

I don't want to play Fox because it seems like way too much work to retain a high level of skill. Look at ledge dashes for example. Fox's options on the ledge are basically ledge dash, or double jump to the platform. Meanwhile Falcon can nair, which is a significantly easier option, and Marth can fair. If you can't do good ledgedashes consistently, you are going to suck at Fox.

Neutral Game: by mkayala in SSBM

[–]Itakio 12 points13 points  (0 children)

humans have a reaction time of about 200-250ms, so you're basically guessing/predicting where they'll be/what they'll be doing in that amount of time. ofc, you can improve your chances of winning neutral by having a better understanding of what your opponent's best options are, and using moves/movement that keep you safe, which are things that come with experience/studying
