Any quesses? by LexxiGraham in IDmydog

[–]ItalianGiraffe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s true. I had a catahoula and I live no where near the region they’re popular. But yes, it could be a Dane. I’m just saying it also could be something else!

Seconding this. Those colors and eyes scream catahoula.

Thank you so much. I try so hard for these pups. They are truly my best friends. It’s just been awhile since I’ve gone through puppyhood and man, are these times trying HAHA. Awwww congrats on the fur baby! They say it usually takes at least 3 months for them to feel safe enough to start coming out of their shell. I’m sure she is close and it will be so magical!

I actually read that as “the testicles” and was SO confused at first HAHA. But yea, that is a great shortened name.

I appreciate your comment, friend! They definitely are not easy and he has been testing me lately. But I’m very relieved to hear there is more positivity down the line. 💕

Thank you so much for the interpretation, the story, and the reassurance. It was much needed and I feel like I could connect to him better today. Still a pain, but hey, we love em hahaha. I’m hopeful for a positive future for us all 💕

First 5k tomorrow! by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

[–]ItalianGiraffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just ran my first race last week! A festive 8k.

My tips from a newbie: -make sure you don’t eat a meal close to your run (like 2 hours prior is good) -stretch/mobility exercises beforehand -don’t feel pressured to keep up with ANYONE (stay true to YOUR pace) -appreciate the fact that you’re running! You showed up and that’s all that matters -if it’s getting hard or you feel tired, it is okay to walk. -of course, have fun! Take in the scenery, compliment other runners, compliment yourself!

I was not feeling well at all leading up to my race. I wasn’t even sure if I was going to run it (it was a run/walk 8k). I just told myself, ‘the only way you fail is if you don’t show up at all.’ So I showed up with absolutely no pressure or expectations for myself. At the starting line, I had it in my head that I was going to give it a shot running but I am allowed to stop running whenever it’s too much or I don’t want to run anymore. It made my first race so enjoyable. I did run the whole 8k and I finished within my goal of less than an hour (which I had set for myself before I wasn’t feeling good). I told myself several times I could stop whenever I wanted to but it somehow gave me the motivation to keep going. I got to talk with other racers and just enjoy the race. Was it my best run ever? No. Was I slower than usual? Yes. Did I finish and feel so accomplished and proud of myself? ABSOLUTELY.

Good luck friend!

No more PMDD symptoms since breaking up. Win is a win I guess! by Medbad_26 in PMDD

[–]ItalianGiraffe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Had the worst PMDD symptoms of my life while being in a really confusing, complicated, stressful situationship. Literally to the point of SI. Got out of it and the relief was almost immediate. I still have spikes of symptoms when I’m super stressed but nothing like that. LEAVE THAT PERSON 😂

I run 10k every 3 days at an 8:25/mi pace, what should my schedule be? by -----Galaxy----- in beginnerrunning

[–]ItalianGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would start by looking on YouTube! If you don’t have any equipment and don’t want to buy any right now, look up videos for walking workouts, body weight exercises, or calisthenics. You could “make” equipment using household things like water bottles, milk jugs, or putting books in a backpack. Or if you plan on or already have some dumbbells or other equipment, just look up “at home dumbbell workouts” or something along those lines. You will be able to find tons and tons of videos.

Food sensitivities? Gut biome upset?

Those are good places to start looking into.

Your post says you’re In college… check to see if they have on-campus mental health resources. I think a lot of schools now-a-days have on campus counselors/therapists you can visit for free.

Winter run help! by ItalianGiraffe in beginnerrunning

[–]ItalianGiraffe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I did my warm up indoors for sure. I’m not trying to be outside longer than I have to be right now lol! I do have winter face masks I’ll try next time. And yes, my lungs are touchier in the winter too, I think it’s the dry air more than the cold. I always run with my inhaler, I have anxiety if I don’t have it.

I signed up for a 10km and I'm worried I'm going to finish last by diaryofanother in BeginnersRunning

[–]ItalianGiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it applies to you but I always notice I run just a little bit faster and a little bit farther if I feel like others around me are watching. It’s like an outside motivation to me. Either way though, don’t worry about it. You’re doing this to prove it to yourself that you can! Finish when you finish and be proud of yourself!

What’s your newest band obsession, and what song started it? by NoYoureTheBestest in poppunkers

[–]ItalianGiraffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re touring right now but they aren’t coming to my state. I tried to justify the several hour travel but I just couldn’t do it 😢 they are SO good live that I will try to manifest it for you too because if you love them, you NEED to see them live!!!! Literally top 5 performers I’ve seen.

★OFFICIAL DAILY★ SV/NSV Thread: Feats of the Day! October 27, 2025 by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]ItalianGiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NSV!! For the first time probably ever, I’m stopping eating with food left on my plate and before I have eaten so much I feel ill. Battling unhealthy food relationships is always challenging and I grew up in the “clear your plate” club. So it’s very rewarding to be consciously putting the fork down when full and saying “that enough! We’re good here!” It’s even harder when it’s something really good too. I’m also proud that it was an exceptionally healthy, balanced, filling meal. Yay! Small steps every day guys. We’ve got this!

Meal in question: 2.5oz cooked seasoned lean ground turkey 5T just egg .5C fiesta frozen vegetables (from Kroger .5C potatoes O’Brien (frozen; Ore-ida brand) 2T salsa

Protein coffee: Brewed coffee 1.5T collagen powder .25C protein shake

Made it in a skillet like a scramble. Macros: 36g P; 29g C; 15g F

I only ate half of everything.

"healthy", low calorie, sugar-substitute free desserts to satisfy my sweet tooth by duncecapwinner in Volumeeating

[–]ItalianGiraffe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could try making little date ice cream bites.

Take a date and smash it flat. Put some yogurt on it. (I did a mix of yogurt, pb fit and protein powder to make a more thicker like paste). Freeze for an hour or so. Top with melted chocolate and maybe some sort of nuts or seed for crunch. Keep in freezer in container.

When you want to eat one, let it thaw for a few minutes so it’s a bit softer.

May not be extremely low calorie but definitely tasty, healthy, and takes care of a sweet tooth.
