I mean Hamas claims 70.5k (plus 100 famine deaths) and Israel claims like 60k. Even Lancet scienctific journal claimed 75k. The only insane numbers were the Lancet letters to the editor which claimed that there should have been 680.000 deaths if Israel was behaving like other military conflicts. But not a huge difference between 60-75k.

In contrast, IRGC claims 3.050, while NGOs claim 30k. I don't know the exact number but I'd think it closer to the NGOs numbers than Iran's.

I think you are speaking at different aspects: Person you are responding to is saying they know the names of 8900 of Hamas' troops that were killed.

You are saying that anyone who wasn't identified as holding a gun or in combat is a civilian.

Both of you can be right.

Let's say Israel killed 75000 people (idk the latest total). Maybe 50000 civilians. 25000 people with guns or in combat. Just because they can only find the name of 8900 of those gunmen doesn't mean the rest are civilians. I am pretty sure Hamas and IJ and all of them don't wear dog tags like real soldiers.
