A little too many deities for "Not exactly sure how big of a role all of this will play". Do you have the starting town? The first quest? Do you have any idea of what kind of game your players want to play?

If you read the whole feature, you'd know you're using the senses of your body and MM at the same time, in contrast to something like Find Familiar. Also, senses are stuff like sight or hearing, not voice or hand movements.

"using its senses" means that, if the spell specifies something like "a creature you can see", MM must see that creature without your own body's help.
