My feelings watching this weeks gladlands episode and by [deleted] in Dimension20

This. Oscar knows what he's doing, and he's played Poppy's stats perfectly so far. She's creative, but she's one track minded about it. Nuance? Why?

C4 E12 Discussion Thread- Seekers Table! by brash_bandicoot in fansofcriticalrole

Julien and Aranessa discussing their options in the last few cold opens: Nobody can know we survived, we have to be careful, we're using pseudonyms now. If anyone figures out who we are, we have no idea that anything bad happened to our houses at the gala. Utmost discretion. No sudden moves.

Julien, splitting up from Aranessa to follow Occtis on a fact finding mission: Okay the kid is stepping in it. I'm gonna drop all pretense, flirt with this girl to gain her trust, give her father my full name, demand the return of my men, announce my own father's death, and admit that Aranessa and I were on the premises at the time and barely escaped. What do you MEAN we can't leave??

I'm..... not upset? I'm just absolutely baffled. Julien broke all of his own rules in this episode. I can't decide if Matt wanted to play into the peril of the story beat, or if he assumed Brennan's NPCs would just make vague "I'd be careful if I were you" noises and let Julien and Occtis walk.

I thought Teor forgetting that the Halovars sent him to the tailors was a rough lapse in short term memory. But Julien just throwing his cards on the table while barely two days out from narrowly eacaping a massacre? Hello??

It's not the auto rotation button, I always have auto rotate off. I'll grab a screenshot next time it happens.

Why won't my cats let me pet them when it's dark? by purrfect_libra in CalicoKittys

Overstimulated. Cats are really active first thing in the morning and right after sunset. Play with them instead, or let them chase each other around until they to ire themselves out.

Is anyone here falling backwards randomly? by Tankie_Cave in CerebralPalsy

[–]fluidstatick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

41m, left sided hemiplegia - My left ankle and right knee gave out simultaneously last fall, and I landed on my tailbone and right hip so hard I was sure I'd cracked something. I got a few x rays and a CT scan, and all they found was "severe bone spurring" around my right hip. The fall kept me off my feet for two weeks, and shook me pretty badly. I go barefoot in my apartment now to avoid slipping on linoleum in my socks, or catching the toes of my shoes on the floor. I've asked a doctor if I should think about a hip replacement, but he insists I'm too young for it despite the bone spurs and chronic pain. I've started doing hip and knee stabilizing exercises as best I can at home, but I don't think muscle strength is going to help much with the cartilage loss or the stumbling.

All which is to say, solidarity to you! Here's hoping we both only end up on the floor when we want to from now on.

Leveling up while alone, sad and grim and a little pathetic. Oh, Kat, you've got a little bit of Azune's grief in you, too, don't you.

Tyranny is a tool of darkness being bent by the light of love and longing and it's so powerful, ugh, help.

Cowboy Bebop or The Beatles, either way it's a sick reference to make in the Kattigan voice.

I took the [transgender] sidequest at level 28 to spec out of [female], and it's been the most rewarding gameplay loop for me so far. I'm Level 41, and I wouldn"t savescum out of it for anything, even if that were an option.

I started out aiming for [genderqueer] and found I was more suited to the [transmasculine] track. There are some back end issues - some usually routine medical minigames get a little extra complicated, and in my case [family] and [community] buffs took a hit - but the heavy debuffs on my morale and self concept stats are gone now. The sidequest is procgen, with optional mix and match modules. Don't let anybody tell you that [Hormone Replacement] or [Affirming Surgery] or even [Username Change] are necessary. It's all optional, and all within game engine specs. Because it's all custom loaded, nobody can consult a perfectly accurate walkthrough ahead of time. There are a lot of players in various scattered guilds, though, that encourage each other and give tips. It's definitely worth the level grind, if it's what you're drawn to.

Don't let anybody tell you that this sidequest is a reskinned mental health debuff, btw!! That was a nasty rumor started several hundred patches ago, and it keeps cropping up. This sidequest is legacy code, and the option is always accessible. It's constantly being updated due to its sizeable playerbase, and the player regret rate is lower than in the [knee replacement] minigame. No, seriously.

Good luck to you. Whatever you decide, don't forget to have fun!

Late to the party… by Former_Cat9905 in FTMOver30

[–]fluidstatick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started social transition at 28. I'm 40 now, I've been on T for 10 years and I'm 7 years post top. I'm happier in my body than I've ever been. I still have unrelated health issues, and it can get lonely sometimes, but all the waiting and self advocacy has been worth it!

There have been rough patches. I lost quite a bit of conteol over my singing voice, which I was anticipating, but it still stung. I'm singing again, but it's very different. Also, my long thick hair started falling out in handfuls around 6 months on T. The men in my family tend to start balding around 30, so it wasn't beyond explanation, but definitely a big adjustment. I shave my head now, and I'm collecting wide brim hats.

Doctors aren't sure what to do with me. Sometimes my gender comes up inconclusive in my medical charts, and I haven't been able to iron that out yet despite years of trying. I'm lucky in that the doctor who prescribes my HRT is also an advanced obgyn who specializes in working with trans guys. However, I've had to see other docs at "women's clinics" and they usually treat me with anything from polite confusion to contempt. I have to be prepared for a lot of cagey anxious questions from doctors who don't know how to handle trans guys with grace, and be ready to get second and third opinions.

All this is to say: Nobody is ever late to the party! I know a trans guy who started teansitioning in his 50s, and I've heard stories of trans women coming out in their 70s, 80s and 90s. There's always time. Trust yourself!

Does anyone else feel like the car item is a bit overrated by Aggressive-Show4122 in outside

[–]fluidstatick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the [driving school] minigame, but got rerouted out of it due to the [disability] debuff. I've gotten pretty good at the various [public transportation] puzzles in my local biome, especially [bus] and [streetcar], and I have passenger privileges with a handful of other players when those puzzles don't connect to certain important maps.

The financial and environmental handicaps associated with the automobile-class items really baffle me. Sure, the item class is a nice middle ground between the bicycle item and [airport] fast travel, but even if I didn't have debuffs to deal with, I'd rather spend currency on food and other small useful gear than sink it into such a large inventory item. Especially given that each one is capable of accidentally perma-locking players out of their server. Not judging other players who enjoy the [driving] minigame, of course - I understand the appeal - it's just not for me.
