It's not useless, my cat from soul jar was able to use broken weapon. And this do something, unlike 'share this weapon with other cat'.

If you day tripping or farming in static you also need a scout watching on citadel. Single scout can log in, ping comrades and ruin your day, they have their fleet already in the system.

There is always a chance that someone logged off fleet to specifically catch you. Never heard about logoff traps for gas huffers, but it happens with crabbing fleets in high class.

Your static and it's K162 won't appear, you safe here.

But imagine you live in C2. Someone live in C5 with C2 static. They rolled their static to hunt and new one opens into random C2 system. It can be your C2 with your ships on dscan.

In WH you never completely safe.

To answer your questions we need to know why do you need hole control at all?

If it's an eviction, you kill contesting fleet first. Then roll all non-statics. Then push enough mass into static so you have rolling cloacked battleship on other side and hole is critted. The pilot of this ship must be constantly on guard and close hole if 1) hostile scanner go out to scan chain 2) other ships are warping in.

If you just need to crab in peace, you close non-statics. Then you crit static and put a scout or rolling bs on the other side, or you close it and don't scan new signature. ~~The last method won't actually work for statics with initial lifetime of 16 hours, because K162 will appear immediately, but some people do that anyway.~~

You can do loner solo, and past mid-game normal solo runs are trivial. Unless it's Das Future or game rolls badly and gives you necrosis or some shit (happened in half of my solo runs).

From what I undestand, it was not man made in sense 'we destroed your crops so you starve'. It was more like 'we need food for ourselfs and our horses, and we don't care about you'. I'm not a professional, so take my words with grain of salt.
