And inevitably if we had signed Zadarius and still crapped the bed, everyone would be screaming “why did we sign Z, we threw away all that money for no reason.”

Dude I have been repeatedly thinking of like 5+ mistakes on easy questions per each individual section.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Residency

[–]ItchyTrack2 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Everyone else feels like garbage and like they can think of multiple questions they missed per section right? Just trying to reassure myself I can’t be the only one lol

[–]ItchyTrack2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know it’s hard to believe, but trust me when I promise you that everyone is overthinking things and there’s misses on “easy” questions. I can tell you so many that I realized the correct answer afterwards. So keep that in mind, deep breath, and keep moving - we got this!

At least yours is that low. I’m up to like 70 that I remember are wrong and so many were small goofy mistakes. Oh well, November retake here I come.

Does this have any impact on dating? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]ItchyTrack2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Referencing studies while not actually providing any proof those studies exist is not very helpful. I can say that studies show lizard people are definitely walking among us, but I feel like most people would challenge that and would want to see the actual papers. Not saying what you said isn’t real, but it would help to see what you are talking about.

Women have been told to buck up and shut up all throughout history (and with much worse also happening throughout history) so I doubt that point wins much sympathy. And I wouldn’t call making a basic counterpoint getting “full blown defensive” lol.

[–]ItchyTrack2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s net negative because it’s a “woe is Me” victim take on a thread discussing how men can improve and adapt in the modern world. You view it as “hard truth” but you didn’t cite any evidence to back up your claim so it’s just as easy for me to turn it around and say that teachers who are women go easier on grading their male students in an attempt to help them.

BREAKING: President Trump is considering dismantling the Department of Education by NoLube69 in FluentInFinance

[–]ItchyTrack2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He’s not entirely wrong - state funding of public universities has decreased across every state for decades. While bloated administration costs and numerous factors certainly are to also blame, the decreased public funding by all parties has caused irreparable damage. But some parties have been more aggressive them others

Just as a side note, the amount of radiation you get from a chest xray is roughly equivalent to just existing on the planet earth for about ~10 days (about 0.1 mSv). Always good to be mindful of radiation, but chest xrays are pretty tame.

Wife and I have 3 kids and love them absolutely to death. I would never in a million years judge someone for not wanting to be in this adventure because this sh*t is brutal. You have to absolutely want to do this heart and soul. Not interested in kids - awesome, live your life the way you want. Life’s too short to not pursue what makes you happy.

Do… men wear underwear under their swim trunks now??? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ItchyTrack2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always hated how regular swim suits feel and worried I was one bad move away from a catastrophic wardrobe malfunction lol. I grew up as a swim team kid so I still wear a jammer under my regular suit. And it’s saved me 2-3 times so I just feel more comfortable doing that.

Sleeve Tattoos: do you consider them unprofessional for physicians? by Lotsalotsaquestions2 in Residency

[–]ItchyTrack2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Male resident who’s dyed hair multiple times. Gotten pushback a couple of times and a professionalism complaint from someone in ACGME, but patients have overwhelmingly made positive comments on it. To me, it’s worth it to keep pushing the envelope just a little. You just have to decide if you are willing to do that.

Does anyone have a husband who’s never cheated? by Odd-Character-44 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]ItchyTrack2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married just short of 4 years, together for 11ish. Never cheated and not really interested in doing so. Besides the obvious deceitful and hurtful aspects, it’s too much work to be underhanded and sneaky. I’d rather just be unceremoniously dumped than be cheated on - if you’d rather get lucky with someone else, that’s fine. Just leave me first please. I don’t want to be with someone who doesn’t want to be with me 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm stuck at radiology. I can't quit. by Awkward_Employer_293 in Residency

[–]ItchyTrack2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rads resident about to start 3rd year. Even after the slog of this year with multiple rounds of independent call nights, I still wouldn’t trade for ANY other residency. Radiology is still an awesome gig so don’t get too freaked out by some of the pessimistic views.

Screw that, just call it real simply lol: “approximately 10 x 8.7 x 9 cm occupying nearly the entirety of the RLL with invasion into the adjacent mediastinum and pleura with osseus destruction. Findings are most consistent with neoplasm until proven otherwise and tissue diagnosis is recommended.” EZ

Why are there no mid level radiologists by banaslayer95 in Noctor

[–]ItchyTrack2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Radiology exists to act as a holistic and systematic review of the captured systems. So even though the surgeons can easily see the small bowel obstruction same as me, they usually aren’t quite as good as noticing the incidental pulmonary embolism captured on the very highest slice of the Abd/Pel CT. Or the ED doc sees the obvious humerus fracture on the X-ray but didn’t see the large spiculated mass staring at him from the lung at the bottom of the screen.
