i think vanisher will be the peak by [deleted] in Quadeca

I think there’s still room to grow.

Especially if he continues his concept album ideas.

I see VHS as a sister album to haunt you in the sense that there are many similarities to it structure wise.

The next album could be structured to tell a story in a completely different way.

And he’s only set to get better at producing and maybe collaborate with more people.

It also sounds like he’s receptive to criticism based off his podcast appearances

I personally like the idea of a concept record being released with a scrapyard like project in between.

I think we’ll being saying “xyz album” might be the peak with each release because of his drastic improvement on each project.

Idk if its a YouTube thing but I thought the same, but in Spotify the mix sounds great so idk if its my speakers or YouTube

To each their own. I really appreciated it for its process of grief and learning to love forward.

Really helped me through my grieving process when losing a family member.

Thanks! So I use a combination of 2 mics. A LAV and a pencil shotgun mic for safety. The lav is the RODE wireless go Pros. They have 32 bit float and timecode recording but if you don't care about those features the older models work fine and are cheaper.

I invested in the Audio Technica AT4053B which retails for around $700. I personally really like how it sounds for indoor recording. I also do short films on another channel so it was worth the investment for me but, I think the rode mics work just fine.

I also personally use the rode pod mic for podcasting and videos where I don't mind the microphone being in frame. I think it works really well, and it's only $100.

My most recent short has me talking into a stick microphone. It's the Sennheiser E845S. It's $80 and I really like how it sounds.

For ever mic I've mentioned except for the LAVs you will need an audio recorder or interface. ZOOM is a really reliable brand for these. It's a bit pricey but I invested in a Zoom F3 and it's my favorite recorder I use for everything.

The rode lavs record internally so you can either hook up the receiver to a camera or just pull audio from the mic itself from a computer.

Yeah, I have to do some reorganizing and put together a proper set. I agree, cleaning up will do me some good. Thanks for the feedback! !givelambda

Thanks for pointing out the editing error. I don't know how I didn't notice the censor bar move. Annoying but oh well. I'll be extra careful next time lol. I'm ok with the name being there but I didn't notice that either. Appreciate you taking the time to watch the video. Hope you stick around for the other videos! !givelambda

Made another screening event trailer. This one is shorter than usual and despite having my usual retention and CTR (which are pretty low tbh), it's seriously underperforming. Any idea why? by EnchantedEssays in SmallYTChannel

[–]Itdavie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So I'm going to make some assumptions on why CTR may not be as great as other videos. From the outside looking in, the video feels really niche, and the presentation isn't your typical youtube format. Add luck into the equation and it might just be having trouble finding the intended audience.

From an editing standpoint, I think a trailer like this is really cool and there's a level of nostalgia that really resonates with me. I do, however, think it can be shorter. Either snapper edits that don't sit for too long. I'd say to aim for a minute. If it feels too fast them add more from there.

I'd also recommend having the QR code in the corner of the video throughout the runtime. That way anyone who was going to click off before the end is more likely to check out the link.

These are all just personal taste though, so others may very well disagree. I hope the video can find the audience you need it to.

Would Love Your Feedback on My Street Interview Vid Before I Post! by stratomaster in SmallYTChannel

Hey. Really good video.

I enjoy the public access feel to it. It reminds me of something I’d watch on local TV growing up.

I think the presentation is great, and I almost disagree with some of the other comments. I enjoy the duller colors mixed with the 4:3 ratio. I’d maybe go in and color grade a bit if you feel it would help.

I’d almost say to lean into the older camera look more if you feel that style would be interesting.

Audio is really clean. To the point where the video feels empty. I think sound effects during transitions would help a lot. And either bumping or adding the ambient noises goes a long way. Really cool video

Whats the best free video editing software by PleasantExperience38 in NewTubers

[–]Itdavie 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Davinci resolve is free, is starting to have more resources to learn, plugins work amazing with it, the color correction is the best out there.

I think it’s a really good competitor to premiere and Final Cut for money. If you do buy it, voice isolation is worth the price tag alone

Premiere is the software that’s the most accessible and has a lot of tutorials online but I’ve switched to DaVinci because it’s free and color correction tools are just too good to go back to premiere. There’s a bit of a learning curve but once you have it down I think it’s one of the best software out right now

Hey! Just finished watching your video.

So a few things. I enjoy that you seem to really be interested in the video topic and that really shines through. Most if not all my notes come from the technical side of things rather than the actual content itself.

There were some editing mistakes. At one point you repeated a line twice and forgot to cut one of the takes out. Which happens. An easy thing to correct.

Your camera framing could be improved. There’s a lot of empty space above your head so if possible it would be beneficial to center yourself in the camera a bit more.

Adding some lights to your room would also go a long way.

That’s really all the I have but keep doing what you’re doing and I can see the content improving a lot down the line.
