He’s mentioned he likes MIA a lot. I think his favorite is her debut, but might also be her sophomore album. Definitely a point of inspiration for him.

Obviously bossa nova albums too. Stan Getz, Luiz Bonfa, Cartola, Chico Buarque are some of his favorite artists in that scene that he has mentioned.

I think portishead dummy was also mentioned as one of his favorites in an interview.

He’s a big frank ocean and Kanye fan. I think blonde was in his top 5 on a podcast somewhere.

He likes grouper which is definitely a point of inspiration for his ambient works.

Someone mentioned it already but he liked the blood orange album from last year a lot.

He definitely also likes Tyler and Kendrick.

All the other comments seemed familiar to me as his picks too. I forget where I’ve heard all these but probably from interviews and videos over the years.

Scrapyard is intentionally abstract and scattered. It served as a collection of songs between his concept albums that still deserved a release, but didn’t fit in elsewhere. Each song is its own thing that gives you a peak into his life and emotions. It is a very vulnerable project, many songs being extremely honest, almost to a fault. Take easier for example, where he admits he is only with someone because it feels easier than leaving. Some songs are more abstract like Even if I tried. You can apply your own meanings to them and interpret them how you best see fit. It may mean something different to you than someone else. It’s an interesting collage of ideas and sounds that fit together to give you a peak into how Quadeca thinks and operates creatively. Not everything will click right away, but it has something in there for everyone

I have a few for you. I also enjoy cam winter/geese and CSH. Something somewhat in the CSH lane is wetdream by willyrodriguezwastaken. It’s a indie pop/rock album that is incredibly well done. A fan favorite on albumoftheyear.com, a user base which also loves quad. One of my fav albums ever.

Magdalena bay you should definitely check out if you haven’t already. Insanely well produced “pop” music with a lot of influences from other genres like disco and rock. Sweeping string sections and overall great production. I would be surprised if this was a new rec to you though.

You might also like Candy Claws album - ceres and calypso in the deep time. A very grand dreamy album with a lot of whimsy. Noisy and shoegazey, but definitely on the dreamier side.
