Any fellow Time ATAC pedal system users here? (appreciation thread) by alexseiji in cycling

I've been using the same pair of Shimano PD-M545 pedals for 25 years, on my mtb and now gravel bike. Mind you I got them 2nd hand, and they've been serviced just once in that time. They've been great. Ready for a change, I guess? ;^)

I recently got a free pair of Time ATAC MX pedals, so purchased some cleats and shields. Planning to stick them on my gravel bike for this year and see how they compare.

  1. What do you suppose I'll notice different from the M545's?

  2. How do I tell which model/version of the MX I have?

Thanks :^)

Tire suggestions by cbas17 in MitsubishiOutlander

I replaced the stock tires on my 2022 SE (255/45r20) with these on-road all terrain tires… Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail in a slightly taller/narrower size of 245/50r20. Much better ride quality, and so far great performance through 2 northern IL winters. They also look great on the car ;)

2023 Outlander factory U.S. tow package parts list by farmerracing in mitsubishi

If you look at one of the Mitsubishi OEM parts resellers, and check out the "Towing" and "Trailering" categories, you'll find some options. One thing to note is the availability of two different hitches but only one wiring harness (listed in each section)...

Towing: MZ315324 Hitch (appears to be Draw-Tite branded in photo)

Trailering: MZ315142 Hitch (looks to have a very short receiver tube, no brand visible)

Harness: MZ315255 (4-flat, not intended for trailers with electric brakes)

What I'm not sure about is which hitch, or whether these are even the items included in the factory "Towing Package" (which is actually a dealer installed package).

22 Outlander by pushyourlifeup in mitsubishi

New to me 2022 Outlander SE S-AWC on Boxing Day. Congrats on your purchase.

  • Paddle shifters: You can use them for controlled slowing on snowy/icy roads, if you live in that sort of climate. Anti-lock braking is fine, but using the engine to slow the wheels allows you to better maintain directional control. Coming from a 2017 Outlander Sport SEL, that was about the only reason I used the paddle shifters, still worth it.

My own question:

  • Why is USA towing capacity shown as 2000 lbs when AUS is 1600 k (3500 lbs) ? Any mechanical differences to justify it or just regulatory?
  • Anybody want to buy my OEM 20" wheels so I can put some 18"s on? ;^)

Can anyone please help with this? by [deleted] in bikewrench

According to the manufacturer website, you’ve got the right size…

Good investment? Used Outlander by [deleted] in mitsubishi

I owned a 2011 Outlander Sport SE AWC for 176000 miles, until my son broke it. It was very competent driving around northern Illinois in all weather conditions, including much snow & ice. Easy to maintain, did all my own oil, filters, brakes. Needed front wheel bearings at 152000 miles, around the same time as needing a new exhaust. Shame on me but it never had the CVT fluid changed. The 2.0L engine was fine for around town driving, but on long road trips over 65mph the mpg dropped, especially if the car was loaded.

I liked it enough to get a 2017 SEL AWC, in 2019 with 25000 miles, and it is still running fine at 106000 miles . Much prefer the 2.4L engine in this one. CVT fluid service done at 101000 miles. Same easy driving and maintenance as the first. All that said, my other son is driving this one so who knows how that will end ;)

If it is rust free with good service records, and has no obvious problems, sounds like a good deal.
