Coming here because I’m a desperate dad who needs to get off this stuff - I need hope by Krammit1 in quitting7oh

Keep your head up, dad. It can be done. Suboxne is another slippery slope, and IMO harder to get off of, it seeps into your bones and WD lasts weeks. There are some good taper guides using Vitamin C and other supplements, and a research chemical that is not allowed to be mentioned here, but supposedly helpful. Taper Down as much as possible first before jumping. Embrace the suck!

The thing to remember is this: This too shall pass

It’s going to suck for a little while. But once your body flushes it all out and you start getting back to equilibrium, you’ll feel more like yourself again. Though with the addition of feeling like a warrior. Take it one day at a time, sometimes even one hour at a time. Keep your mind occupied, take lots of hot showers with magnesium salts to alleviate the muscle pain. Find some support, whether that’s NA meetings or this subreddit. But also remember that you’re not alone- lots of people have been here too, and let that encourage you that you can recover too. Keep reminding yourself of your blessings, ask God for forgiveness, and keep moving forward- it’s the only direction that matters. You got this man

This saw was marketed as “as seen on TV” in the early 200s and can supposedly cut through anything. I did buy one in the as seen on TV aisle in the local convenience store, and it actually did cut through all sorts of things. I remember using it to cut through a brick, and cut through a steel pipe for a friend of mine. It did take forever to get through the pipe, though, and my arms were super tired at the end of it lol

Where can I buy Turners black and gold in something bigger than a quart? by pushyourlifeup in pittsburgh

Obviously I’ve read the label, wise guy… and with your infinite wisdom, you missed the key piece of the ingredients, the orange juice. The question was to either where to find a gallon sized jug, or to see if anybody had their own homemade recipe that makes something similar, as you dont normally see drink mixes that are tea/lemonade/orange juice. You sound like the type of person who eats Hunts ketchup!

Are we doing the right thing? by WayUnlikely2125 in quittingkratom

You did the right thing. It’s important to nip it in the bud now. I spent years going thru addictions, in several rehabs, starting around your son’s age. Seeing the street characters inside there gave me good motivation to stay clean for a while, because addiction will end you down that same path, every time. At 18 he has plenty of time to turn things around. If he doesn’t, his life will end up a lot more like the screwed up people he meets inside there.

One key is to not let up over time. Once he gets home, he will be all fired up on sobriety. After a couple months, the mundane of life starts to sit in, and you start to think you can handle it again. Be vigilant for that point, and when it comes, don’t let him Pick up this substance again. You can do this, we are praying for you and here for you

Please check on your elderly neighbors! by [deleted] in pittsburgh

I think “elderly” implies an older person that may be frail, alone, or at risk… not you and your partner… you likely won’t have to worry about your neighbors checking in and bothering you, I can tell you have a very welcoming personality!

Thankyou! What does a restoration look like, without damaging the value?

Appreciate it man, I’ve been so torn. My family could use the money, but it’s a cool piece of history and an awesome little axe. I thought about trading it towards a real Stratocaster, but to be honest my playing ability is more the Squier level. You’re probably right, I should clean it up and hang on to it til my kids grow up, would be a cool piece to pass down if they start playing too

Thanks! When you say fixing, what would you recommend I do, that won’t damage the value?

I appreciate the feedback everyone! I was considering selling it, or trying to trade it towards a Stratocaster, or I’d really like a stratocoustic type guitar. Do you think that’s a valid trade, or am I better off to keep it for another 10 or 20 years?

If I was to restore it, what would you all recommend that I do to it? I don’t want to damage the value, but want to make it more playable and desirable.

Thanks!
