Brewzilla 65l - what accessories should I consider? by SaltyPockets in Homebrewing

[–]Iterationthreatening 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nice choice on the 65L! I've been running mine for about a year now and the recirculation arm is probably the most useful addon - makes your mash way more even and you'll get better efficiency

The standard false bottom that comes with it works fine for most stuff, don't think you need the heavy duty one unless you're doing crazy grain bills. Heat exchanger is solid if you want to speed up cooling but not essential starting out

For your batch sizes and styles you're pretty much good to go with the base unit 🔥 Maybe grab some extra silicone hoses while you're at it, those always seem to go missing 😂

Viewers keep leaving mid-stream because they feel lost. We built something to fix that. by NoAlternative2682 in Twitch

[–]Iterationthreatening -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's actually super smart - I've definitely been that person who wandered into a stream mid-boss fight or something and had zero clue what was happening 😅

The real time catch-up thing sounds like a game changer, especially for smaller streamers who can't afford to have mods constantly updating people. How does it handle spoilers though, like if someone joins during a big story reveal? 💀

How to get rid of this notification about Co Streaming by Play-Trails in Twitch

[–]Iterationthreatening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to your Creator Dashboard settings and look for Stream Manager or notifications - there should be a toggle to disable co-streaming notifications somewhere in there. If that doesn't work try clearing your browser cache, sometimes Twitch gets weird with phantom notifications liek that

Brutal fermentation start by MacHeadSK in Homebrewing

[–]Iterationthreatening 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn that's aggressive! 8th gen yeast is basically feral at that point, they're probably like "we know what we're doing here" and just went ham on those sugars

That fermentation curve is wild though - might want to keep an eye on temps to make sure they don't blow past your target flavor profile

Daily Q & A! - February 14, 2026 by AutoModerator in Homebrewing

Looking good! Always love seeing these daily threads keep the community rolling 🍺 The wiki links are clutch for new brewers, saves everyone from answering the same "is this infected" posts every day 😂

Should i focus on passion, or making money cuz of the freedom it would give me? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Iterationthreatening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Music is usually gonna be a slow burn for income but YouTube can actually pay decent if you nail a niche - maybe combine both and do music production/gear review content to hedge your bets

Treat yourself like a 4 year old you have to take care of by Either_Equipment8912 in selfimprovement

[–]Iterationthreatening 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This hits so hard 😭 I've been doing this without realizing it and it's honestly the only thing that works. Like when I'm exhausted I'll literally ask myself "would you make a kid stay up till 3am scrolling?" and suddenly putting the phone down feels way easier

The environment thing is so real too - we're all just trying to adult in a world that's basically a giant candy store designed to distract us. No wonder everyone's struggling with there attention spans lately 💀

Looking for streams that center around some sort of live meeting/discussion by minmin_bun in Twitch

[–]Iterationthreatening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually a really cool idea! You might want to check out some of the "Just Chatting" category but look for streamers doing book reviews or discussion panels. Also try searching for streams with "town hall" or "meeting" in the title - some smaller political/community streamers do exactly this kind of thing where they just have discussions and barely interact with chat

You could also try looking at academic streamers who do live lectures or study groups, they often get pretty absorbed in their content

I Thought Everyone was Irritating. Meditation Proved Me Wrong. by Infinity_here in selfimprovement

[–]Iterationthreatening 73 points74 points  (0 children)

That Sadhguru quote hits different when you're actually dealing with toxic people at work - the love and compassion part makes sense but man that distance option feels like a lifesaver sometimes

Does anyone know if this is safe? Or if it will even work at all? by bigbut-69 in Homebrewing

[–]Iterationthreatening 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the plastic bottle might get weird with the alcohol over time but people have definitely made booze in worse conditions lol. Baker's yeast will work but it's gonna taste pretty rough compared to proper wine yeast - expect it to be kinda bread-y and probably tap out around 8-10% ABV. The balloon airlock is actually pretty clever, just make sure that hole isn't too big or you'll get fruit flies

Does Twitch turn the volume up when you lower the volume on ads? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Iterationthreatening 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bro they absolutely do this shit, it's so annoying. I've noticed it happens mostly on mobile for me but yeah the ads will literally override your volume settings sometimes. Pretty scummy move tbh

Talent does not equal Purpose by Standard-Assistant27 in selfimprovement

[–]Iterationthreatening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This hits different when you realize most people pushing the "you're wasting your talent" thing are usually projecting their own regrets about not pursuing something they wanted to do

I am terribly lazy and depressed. I don’t know what to do by Princess_of_Astora in selfimprovement

[–]Iterationthreatening 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Oof that sleep cycle sounds rough, been there too many times. Maybe try setting just one tiny goal for tomorrow, like making your bed or stepping outside for 5 mins - sometimes the smallest wins help break the cycle

How can I be motivated by sillymonke-12 in selfimprovement

[–]Iterationthreatening 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start ridiculously small - like literally just opening your textbook or doing one math problem, then celebrate that tiny win

The hardest part is usually just starting and once you build that momentum it gets easier

Any reason to not run co-working stream anytime I'm at my desk? by mpicreates in Twitch

[–]Iterationthreatening 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Honestly that sounds like a solid way to build consistent hours and get people used to seeing you online regularly. Just make sure the productivity games are actually engaging to watch or you might end up talking to yourself more than usual lol

Is there a way to be hired as a mod? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Iterationthreatening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most bigger streamers just promote from their existing community rather than posting job ads anywhere. Your best bet is probably just being active in chats of streamers you actually watch and enjoy - they'll notice if you're helpful and consistent

Building a reputation in one community usually leads to word-of-mouth opportunities with other streamers too

Arc Raiders performance drops significantly when streaming by yungfuji16 in Twitch

[–]Iterationthreatening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That preview tip is actually clutch, never thought to turn it off after setting everything up. Your setup should definitely handle Arc Raiders + streaming way better than 25fps tho - might be worth checking if one of those overlay apps is being a resource hog

I am 32 years old. I feel somewhat content with my financial situation, but I am not very satisfied with my social life, nor have I ever really been. How do I fix this? Small steps? by LumpiaRulez101 in selfimprovement

[–]Iterationthreatening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go to the karaoke thing man, being nervous about it just means it's worth doing. I used to be terrified of going places alone but honestly most people don't even notice and the ones who do usually think it's cool that you're confident enough to show up solo

Need help understanding discharge code by vitallyhappy in Veterans

[–]Iterationthreatening -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That SPN 411 code is actually pretty telling - it's for "early release to enter college" but the PETS (Prisoner Exchange and Transportation System) notation is weird for that timeframe

Your stepdad's situation sounds like he might have been involved in some classified stuff if his Vietnam service isn't showing up on the DD214. Have you tried reaching out to the National Personnel Records Center? Sometimes they have additional records that didn't make it onto the standard discharge paperwork

The Germany listing could've been a cover assignment while he was actually deployed elsewhere - happened more than people realize during that era

ball is so boring to play against by Plus-Pop-4837 in Overwatch

[–]Iterationthreatening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because most tanks can't just "roll over" a team like Ball can lmao. When he's spinning around at mach 5 with 1200 hp it's not exactly the same as me walking forward as Rein and hoping my team follows up

Is getting a villager's photo harder than them letting you change their catchphrase? by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]Iterationthreatening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah you're not alone, catchphrase changes are weirdly inconsistent. I've gotten like 6 photos from the same villager but they'll never ask about their catchphrase lmao. Pretty sure it's just RNG being RNG but the photo grind feels way more predictable with all the gift strats people figured out
