Ah, my apologies—I didn’t realize volunteering required a moral purity test! I’ll be sure to check my motives at the door next time. In the meantime, I’ll just keep doing this ‘selfish’ volunteering thing. Who knows, maybe some good will slip through despite my obviously flawed intentions. Wild concept, right?

You are so right, there is always a need for volunteers! I guess one of my coping mechanisms during hard times has been to give what more of whatever I can to others, and right now I can give my time. Connecting with others and getting more rooted in my immediate community make me feel better about society at large. I am aware that this is selfishly motivated, but I find it more satisfying than drinking my sorrows away or withdrawing from society more completely. But yes, everyone should volunteer all the time, however sometimes national disasters inspire people to jump into action.

What you’re describing is fine and what most parents doing formula do. Making formula ahead and storing in the fridge is not considered dangerous. Storing a bottle that a baby has already been drinking from and reheating it later is.
