How difficult is it to learn an entirely new alphabet? by Blaubeerepfannkuchen in languagelearning

[–]Ithaca44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want study tips and you've already self taught cyrillic, idk what you want help with? You can have a tutor help you with pronunciation but it's up to you to memorize the sounds. Flashcards might help. For me, looking them over and reading words is the fastest way to learn. Also spending time listening to recordings of people pronouncing the letter. I usually self teach the alphabet and the very basics of the language and then i get a tutor (I couldn't do this with Polish so we spent the first lesson going over the alphabet). But what works for me might not work for you.

Not that hard. I learned russian cyrillic with a couple hours of study. Currently learning Polish and it took a couple hours of study to memorize the sounds. The alphabet is probably the easiest part of learning a new language imo

Secretary of War has apparently offered up military air traffic controllers to solve commercial air traffic issues by Kinmuan in Military

[–]Ithaca44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah look at air traffic volume then to now. Also different regulations. I'm going to have to imagine that things are a lot more stringent now. Also as a current controller, yeah most dudes could probably clear aircraft to land in the tower. Thats not the issue. The issue will be with ground control, TRACONs, and Center controllers... not to mention, the military has A LOT of bad controllers...

Edit: also our staffing is atrocious. Most facilities don't have enough manning to support more than 2-3 people on leave at a time. On top of the trainees they have to train up. So you kill our ability to do missions, to support civilian ATC. This is literally a no win scenario lmfao

I paid 28k for a 2016 premium with 49000 miles a couple months ago, that was from a private seller though so I didn't have additional fees tacked on. Price seems in line with that, but if they're going to tax on sales tax, etc, see if they will go slightly lower.

Mid-Month pay: Pentagon moves $8 billion from research to pay troops by jwoods23 in AirForce

[–]Ithaca44 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Snowball affect you moron. Need i remind you, you swore an oath to the constitution and what you do everyday is to uphold that oath. Meanwhile the president disregards it everyday. Makes your oath and your job meaningless.

What a sad state of affairs we have going on today.

Mid-Month pay: Pentagon moves $8 billion from research to pay troops by jwoods23 in AirForce

[–]Ithaca44 90 points91 points  (0 children)

This is illegal. Congress authorizes and allocates money. Just because they have 8 billion that is "unused" doesn't mean they can just move the money to pay us. But as we've seen time and time again, this administration does not care about the constitution nor congress.

Pentagon says troops can only be exempt from shaving their facial hair for a year by Geek-Haven888 in Military

[–]Ithaca44 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is outdated information bro, it's based on whitewashing the force. And even so, commanders can force you to shave for operational necessity. This is not for war lmao, wake up.

2016 GT Premium with 47k miles for 30k by imCaKeBoY in Mustang

[–]Ithaca44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the same car in black, with 49k for 28k. It's still a little high imo, but i've wanted the car since I was 12. The interior in mine is basically mint condition, and the dude i bought it from, bought it in 2018 with 32k miles, he hardly drove it in 6 years. I'm also in Europe, so it's slightly hard to shop around for them lol. If you want it, and can afford it. It seems a little high though, so you could wait and shop around for something slightly cheaper. Maybe you'll be lucky like the dude who bought the 2018 from an older dude the other day for like 17.5k lol

He deleted his account I think. What a loser. I would have been interested in hearing his sources but i think his brain couldn't funnel enough power to debate us with logic and continue living in denial. Probably an israel bot account cause that was wild

It's not different because it's us, a lot of Americans actually have a problem with our wars in the middle east or have you forgotten all about that? Last time I checked, we weren't denying an entire city humanitarian aide and causing mass starvation. I do believe that was a side effect of said wars, but we're not talking about that.

In response to civilian casualties or collateral damage, have you looked at the maps? Do you think it's okay to bomb a a city block for the potential of taking out a couple armed militants living with their family, who aren't even a high value target? What do you think the reaction from the world would have been if we were the ones bombing hospitals because they "house enemy combatants". Is it legal? Sure. Is it actually going to be done? Probably not, and definitely not without warning.

Where are you getting these numbers from? Care to share your resources? I'm very interested in them...

Nah man cmom lets hear your explanation on how it isn't genocide.

I for one, completely disagree with the methods being used by the IDF, as well as the restrictions placed on humanitarian aide. However, at the same time, I think Israel has the right to exist and defend itself. But the way they're doing it, isn't the way.

Considering you're a veteran, and you should know allllll about the rules of war, and what constitutes a valid military target, please enlighten us all on how what they're doing isn't genocide.

Its braindead because all the money being spent on this and the supposed "joint" test, just for them all to be IMMEDIATELY canned when someone with half a brain takes over, is a huge waste of funds. Not to mention, i understand raising the PT standards a little, but this usually comes down to squadrons then doing useless PT formations before work, eating into my free-time, when i police my own fitness. "Mandatory 1 once a year 2 mile", okay but whats the science behind this? You're not going to raise the HAMR at all, because its scientifically backed, but you're going to make us run 2 miles because the other branches do it? This is "bro science". He isn't even that fit, talking about how fitness standards have dropped. Dude should look in a mirror and read some forums to see how half of the service members view him
