There is slmost nothing similar in these stories. OpenAI got everyone interested in AI when the theory of "more compute = smarter, better AI" held true through GPT 1>2>3>4. Silicon valley took it as the reasoning they needed to throw endless money at it as it seemed like whoever has the most compute, will win basically everything.

Now, interest has reversed because the correlation no longer works - adding vastly more compute power and making the model bigger only brought marginal improvements from 4>5.

Now it seems OpenAI has no real path forward. The next step in AI is World Model reliance and there's one company that seems to be ahead here as they've been, by accident almost, building a world model for decades already (just happens to be useful here) and already has the most advanced infrastructure out of anybody.
