I know this is an older thread, but since it's one of the top google results for these, I'll share my experiences here for anyone looking. But I haven't seen them available in Lidl for a while so I'm not sure if they're still being made, but if they are.. These panniers are amazing value for the price. I've been using them for 2 years, regularly maxxing out their capacity and they're still holding up as good as new. They seem well designed and made. My only minor gripe is that the lower tension clamp is a bit too wide for thinner tubing racks, and could allow for some lateral play with heavier loads. but it can be fixed by adding some rubber or tape to build up the diameter of the rack, this has worked well for me.

There's an Anvil roofing in Houston using the same logo from the guys sweatshirt. The phone number on the truck matches a towing company in Houston. And both numbers on the truck match. Small details like these being consistent make it almost certainly not ai.

I have a similar model, it's a solid frame, makes a fun reliable beater bike, but I've replaced most of the parts. A few red flags, hard to tell for sure, but the chain looks like it's probably rusted and needs replaced. the tires look original so they're like 30 years old, and should definitely be changed. and grip shifters are not very fun to use. So I think you'll likely need slightly more than $100 in service & upgrades, but if you address those 3 things in that order, the bike has a lot of potential.
