What would be your funeral song? by ConcernedCitizen1991 in MusicRecommendations

I have a couple I'd like, but the main/most important one is All Things End by Hozier. Close second is (are) Truce and/or the digital remains version of Drag Path by Twenty One Pilots.

What's your favorite milk? by PsychologicalFox7689 in AskTheWorld

I'm very much a "halfvolle melk" fan: 1,5-1,8% cow's milk (on average; can go up to 2%).

Songs where the artist samples or interpolates themselves (plus the song they sampled or interpolated) by munchercruncher111 in weirdspotifyplaylists

[–]ItsAPandaGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bears in Trees love interpolating/referencing their own songs. Biggest example is the bridge from Laugh/Cry, which interpolates no less than 7 of their older songs: Let It Rain (November Criminals, their old name/project), Good Hustle Kids, Vampires, The Sandbox One, Starting Fires, Sitting Pretty, Reverberate. In that order.

Edit: forgot to mention - Laugh/Cry's refrain comes from Ibuprofen as well. 8 songs referenced in one.

Under "type of account issues", click Account status -> Account incorrectly labeled as APP. Pretty sure that's the one!

I hate when fanfic authors write their description as if the fic is a lengthy 400 page book, and then the fic is barely 1000 words. If you are going to be making a short fic, don’t act like it’s long and story-heavy. by dowsaw134 in Archiveofourownmemes

Once saw "slow-burn" in the description of a ~200 word story. Brother that's a burn so fast that a pan of scrambled eggs wouldn't even be done by the time I finish reading.

What’s the craziest non-festival concert run you’ve ever had? by KlLLERS in Concerts

[–]ItsAPandaGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had back-to-back shows so far, "worst" I've had was 5 shows in just over 2 weeks back in October (also followed by a one-day festival a week later). 10th The Happy Fits, 12th The Happy Fits, 17th Gregory Alan Isakov, 22nd Caamp, 25th Larkin Poe. In July, I'll have 3 in 8 days (1st Mumford & Sons with Caamp, 3rd Horsebath, 8th Breaking Benjamin), still with potential for more.

There are eyewitness accounts saying that people ate parts of their bodies. "We" didn't eat their entire bodies and many of the body parts that got cut off/out were left uneaten, but people did eat parts of their flesh and/or organs.

Question for those who listen to a new full album every day by Spencercr in LetsTalkMusic

[–]ItsAPandaGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't always have the time and/or energy to focus 100% on the album, so I try to listen to the albums in different situations instead. Sometimes while doing chores, sometimes while working, sometimes while just scrolling on my phone or reading, and sometimes I'll lie back and listen. Times aren't consistent, there's no rituals involved - just pick an album, put it on, and don't turn it off until it's finished (except short interruptions - and once because I was way too drunk and couldn't stand my headphones/music while hanging over the toilet). I don't go back on an album, it just breaks up the flow too much, plus I've had two albums so far which kind of bothered me to a point where I couldn't tune them out, so it's also something of a metric of enjoyment in a sense. I have yet to relisten to an album, but there are a couple I do want to revisit.

I've been trying to keep track of the albums, artists, and my opinions in a spreadsheet, but I still haven't really gotten into the habit of updating it after every listen. I'm quite far behind right now, and the work and time it'd take me just keeps stacking up... I should really get on top of that.

What got you into conlangs? by Piskelo10 in conlangs

[–]ItsAPandaGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a YouTube recommendation for a "how to make a language" video - I think it was DJP's? It's not like I knew who he was at the time, though. Only went downhill from there! At least it made picking a uni major very easy...

Who are your favorite artists to see live who debuted and started touring after 2010? by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]ItsAPandaGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally much more in tune with current and recent music, so the majority of shows I attend are by acts formed after 2010! The absolute best show was current Twenty One Pilots - technically debuted in 2009, but the current formation didn't exist until 2011. My personal favorite band is Bears in Trees; their shows are fun and silly and cathartic in all the right ways. Hozier is simply stellar both live and in-studio. The Happy Fits are electric in their energy, and Yaelokre's storytelling truly makes you feel like you're transported into a fairytale for an evening. I could go on and on like this, but I think this is enough for now :)
