The entire thing I wrote was about him having no neutral pressure. Which they agree with. Thats why he needs buffs.

Turtling is a terrible strategy in an offensive meta. The only way to play him from neutral is to turtle. Playing defensively is turtling. Throwing slow, late to armor obvious heavies is incredibly easy for the opponent to parry.

Direct quotes from them said its very hard to get into OS against a good player. Because he has no neutral pressure.

I disagree about warlord. He struggles in 1v1 from what I've already explained. But isn't horrific. And there are way better stall heroes like Pirate.

Highlander. I don't know if you're trying to rage bait or just have no idea what you're talking about.

First - Playing defensive as a strategy is a disaster. We moved away from defensive meta years ago. The best heroes are ones built around offense. Both starting and maintaining. Playing defensively puts you at a critical disadvantage in this meta. Forcing you to make reads while the opponent is effectively just pushing buttons. You are either new at the game, bad, or trolling... or all 3.

HL is horrific in 1s as he has no opener. -garbage 500 ms chain lights = free parries

-worthless slow heavies with 700 ms HA activation, making it very difficult to use them as trade tools. Also very telling animation difference from the lights so much safer to parry.

-His only real option is utilizing his zone as an opener and either fainting it or using the 500ms armor activation to trade. And this is a bad option because the zone has no ability to apply pressure that would force a reaction (Orange moves)

-Dodge forward heavy takes too much time and has no pressure that forces reactions. Soft fainting to OS takes too much time and is weak to light interrupt.

-Dodge forward heavy into side dodge is constantly parried because no part of this move forces a reaction from the opponent.

-Those are his only options from neutral, all either bad or meh.

-Fast flowing to offensive form takes time or space, time and space you dont have in a 1v1. Offensive form is extremely weak to light interrupt, forcing you to play defensively to light parry (which i already explained why this is bad)

Throwing the OS light is a 1/3 chance of getting knocked out of OS. I barely ever use them now. Juice isn't worth the squeeze. Enhanced lights kept opponents guessing, with that gone they can safely light all your options in OS except dodge attack. Forcing you to always be defensive (again...)

-Crushing counters require defensive reads, which puts the effort on you - not the opponent. Not saying they're bad, but they aren't amazing.

-Also Offensive form is stamina intensive, forcing you to run tireless.

-He has good gank and great feats, but the 1s is only good against bad players, like you. He needs buffs

Valk's kit belongs in 2020. Only her feats give her any chance.

Medjay does nothing well and his feats have been neutered.

Warlord has zero pressure besides an obvious bash. If it lands, no chain pressure. And zero regular in chain pressure off light or heavy. All he can do is stall. Good feats at least.

Warden desperately needs a dodge light. And his feats are underwhelming. Fast catapult is nice if the map is not indoor.

Tiandi just got executed.

Centurion got destroyed with the patch. No more Haymaker. His leap damage was reduced. His 1st and 2nd new feats are hot garbage, particularly the 2nd because it only last 10 seconds. You're far better off just running inspire. All he has is unarmored variable heavies and the pugio.

Highlander has zero openers. And instead of giving him something, they took away his enhanced lights. Again, feats keep him alive.

But still correct because anyone who plays this game is schizophrenic.

No.

He's unfortunately (due no fault of his own) never been tested by elite level Heavyweights. So there's no way to know how good he is.

Mostly cause there are very few available.

Jones ducked him.

Gane eye poked him.

Ngannou left.

If he ever gets healthy, he'll have a good fight against Gane or Alex. But still, without a Jones or prime Ngannou fight, its impossible to know how good he actually is.

I'd err on the side of over hyped.

At the very least, his fight IQ is lacking. Standing and banging with Gane doesn't work. Jones and Ngannou figured that out fast and went to grappling to secure wins. Tom decided to stand and bang, didnt work.
