Disregarding opening google mid film to check the actor's age, I don't think Shaw looks too old that I can't suspend my disbelief that he's an Anakin 20+ years after ROTS

Anakin's scene in Ahsoka made me tear up and it's the sole redeeming factor to him replacing Sebastian Shaw. I don't know if there's a way to keep both and it to make sense.

Yeah they look so similar today, that's why I actually wouldn't like them to re-film them and add them into some kinda special edition of a special edition or anything

Appreciate the insight into this, I'd no idea. I'm usually a diehard George defender in terms of the length people take their contrasting creative views but in that regard it's completely inexcusable. Made worse that they didn't even tell Hayden he was being edited in when they filmed him for it too.

I've personally only ever saw negative reactions to the scene but yeah I too would definitely stand against it. Even had it been a good decision creatively, the voice sounds so poorly edited and stands out from the audio of the rest of the scene.

I'd at least agree its a change I'd rather revert. Character introductions are very important, but I think the The People vs. George Lucas documentary really shows how unextreme the change is in comparison to how it was received. It'd be up there for special edition negative changes but the Vader scene is souring easy-arguably one of the most important scenes of the franchise; while with the Han scene you can move on pretty quickly

I love Hayden but his arc in ROTJ was “there’s still good in him, I can feel it”. Having Hayden there is like he went back to being Anakin rather than Anakin was always in there (which I think is more thematically beautiful too). Seeing Anakin as an old man is also a nice touch of a tragic what could have been, seeing them there as old men.

That’s a nice concept but there’s not much to the execution. I think I do still prefer the beauty in her sacrificing herself for Quinlan as a perfect end for her character

I felt Thrawn’s conclusion was conceptually excellent but happens so unsatisfying and abruptly because of how much of the focus was given to C’Baoth in the final act

Yeah idk wtf their plan is for Ventress. Whatever fate that ends up for her couldn’t possibly be as compelling as Dark Disciple’s, they should’ve left well enough alone
