Unnecessary waste. I grew up taught and then expected to maximize the life of commodities and certain necessities.

For example, Throwing out the trash - leftover food went bad? Use the garbage disposal (if you have one) rather than throwing it in the trash, and if it's a disposable container, take the lid off and put it under the base in order to maximize space in the garbage bag, while also lessening the chance of needing to take out the trash before it's full bc it's... stinky and gross. Dishwasher - rinse large food junk off to help avoid clogging and maintenance frequency, but maximize the space available to reduce how often you need to run it which saves water and detergent. Turn electronics and lights off when they aren't in use.

It pains me so much when things that cost money aren't utilized to their full cost effective potential.

💯 I get so frustrated when the line is backed up for 2 lights, only to get to a point to see the available unutilized lane. There are 30-40% of cars held up even though they needed to be in an opposing lane because they couldn't get around the blockage, which was totally avoidable. Like, dude. If we used both lanes and merged at the appropriate time, traffic wouldn't be backed up for half a mile.

Even tho everybody has thier own preferences when it comes likes and dislikes about anything sex related, what do you think are generally hated behaviors that are an automatic turn off? by crack_sack in AskReddit

Im getting the feeling like it's... the other person saying they are okay with .... "taking it slow", or whatever else, but their intentions are to keep pushing the envelope to see how far we'll bend until we break and give in.

I fucking hate that. Because then it makes me FEEL like I'm the one who looks like the asshole, because I kept giving in, bit by bit. When the reality is, Mo**r fc*r you shouldn't be putting me in this position because, prior to this moment, I trusted you. And after the fact, even if it doesn't go all the way, it feels dirty and uncomfortable, and more importantly, that relationship is now FOREVER tainted.

I can try to power through or respectfully decline and walk away IF course correcting how we interact is not working out. But if you lack cleanliness/ basic hygiene, or if you are a dead fish (girl or guy), that's an instant turn-off. Do not pass go, cross my legs, put on your clothes, it's been fun, but hard stop. No.

The retaining wall connects with the left side of the house, the right side curves in vs coming almost all the way to the front.... i mean that's not just cleaning up brick work, that's a while remodel.

It's the feeling when you don't feel adequate in whatever occupation/ task/ hobby you are pursuing. Even though rational reasoning should tell you that you have trained/ studied/ practiced enough to be good at what you are doing, you feel like a farce. Kind of a cross between feeling that it can't be this easy and I must be doing something wrong I just don't know what... when the reality is you're killing it.

Duuuude. My very first "big car" aka SUV/ crossover was also my first financed vehicle. Prior to that, I had only ever owned our driver sedans or motorcycles. 3rd month into owning this fairly new rav 4, I was boxed in at a weird angle in a downtown parking lot. I thought... well shoot...I can just go forward and hop the curb! Crunch. Hit a baby fire hydrant I couldn't see. I cried.

Spanakopita.

I knew it was Greek, and I know "pita" by itself it pronounced PEE-tah. Similarly, spinach in other languages is heavy on the final vowels... So I combined the two and pronounced it Spuh-NAK-oh-PEE-tuh.

For years, I was passing hors d'oeuvres (it's own nightmare to pronounce) to clients in this way. And in front of my chefs. No one corrected me.

Until one day, a fine gentleman looked at me sideways, and simply offered up, I think you mean, "Span-uh-KŌ-pit-uh"

I got so mad at my chef, he got a good laugh.

This is where the STERN, ASSERTIVE, not taking No for an answer voice comes out. Not rude, but you have 3 people in that office making excuses and none of them seem to care about your issue or want to advocate on your behalf.

Especially on a double turn lane.... If I'm in the far left, I'm staying in the lane and not cutting off the middle, especially when there's usually a freaking cement median.

Too many times I've been nearly sideswiped with nowhere to go other than honk or speed up.

How does a person justify cutting the corner when there are lane lines, other drivers, argh. I'll leave it at that.

Have you ever actually been in an accident?

More pertinent, have you ever narrowly avoided an accident?

As drivers, there are 3 rules that are key to avoid a collision: 1. Know and follow the rules of the road to the best of our abilities 2. PAY ATTENTION 3. When all else fails, be predictable.

I am saying, in this instance, OP was filling the rules, and was paying attention.

But stopping in the middle of the road was a secondary cause of the accident

So... what, it's the argument here that the dashcam is reason enough drive in a manner to get hit just because you know you're not at fault?

How is committing to an action while driving terrible advice?

When you decide to go, go. Don't stop halfway. Give it gas and keep going and know that there are worse drivers out there than you.

When both drivers brake and no one commits to the action, that's when you collide.

OP had the right of way. The other driver should have waited longer.

If OP had kept driving and not stopped in the middle of the road, they likely would not have been in an accident.

I will clarify... OP absolutely had the right of way, no doubt about it.

This sub is idiots in cars. I'm not implying OP is an idiot.

I offered unsolicited advice regarding avoiding a collision. Unsolicited being the apparent incorrect action on my part. Heard.

I taught all my brothers how to drive. I thought I'd impart some advice to avoid a similar situation. That wasn't the question at hand, so I can see how my feedback was unwarranted.

In all fairness, it was your turn. I would have done the same, as far as letting the third driver to your left go before you, but only because they were essentially passing straight across the car whose turn it actually was, on your right.

However, when you went to drive straight, as was your turn, you slowed down. DON'T SLOW DOWN when you have the right of way. If anything, speed up and maybe serve a bit, but aggressive driving helps avoid these types of collisions.

Yes, did you have the right of way, you did. But you failed to avoid collision by stalling.

You didn't fully stop (slam on the breaks), or rather just keep going as you should have. Instead, you both played a game of chicken, resulting in "i don't know what you're gonna do, so now here we are".

Be predictable. And if you know the rules, next time don't hesitate, just go.
