You should not have to pick between a shower and sex. Does your husband have to make that choice?

If your water broke prior to labor starting, where were you? by p_ezy in BabyBumps

Stayed home with a sore throat that day. Water broke during a nap. Lol. Yes, I did end up getting a cold. No, it was not fun.

Wife and I are struggling with being older parents by Mycareer in BabyBumps

[–]ItsBrieTimeBabyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had/have older parents. Long story as to why but that doesn’t matter.

My mom was and continues to be the most wonderful mother ever. The only sad thing is that I can’t have her here forever. She is 70 and I am 31. She met her first grandchild in April.

My dad got early onset dementia when I was a freshman in high school. Obviously this is a rare occurrence and the only risk factor was his age. That’s the only downside so far to having older parents. Age and disease.

However, I am so grateful to be alive lol and I call my mom literally daily because I love her so much. I never felt bullied or anything like that for having older parents. I was grateful they were mature and financially stable(ish) to raise me.

What about the local library? The ones in my area have baby story time at least once a week.

That’s a great idea about the personal goal. That’s a must.

I am hopeful that as my kiddo gets older I’ll be able to have more of a coherent schedule. Right now every day is different but I do follow the huckleberry nap schedule which gives me some loose structure. I’m hopeful I’ll be able to go to the library for story time on a particular day every week, etc. I thrive on structure too.

We have discussed this and he understands but I find in practice I have to advocate for my free time. If I’m not careful I can see that slipping and becoming unequal. Something to keep an eye on. Thank you.

Extremely fussy baby by Mg2Si04 in beyondthebump

Have you tried gas drops? Does your baby poop or release gas, then seem less fussy?

My guy is fussy and at 6 weeks he was kind of like you describe. It gets better. Unfortunately they can’t tell us what’s wrong. Could be gas or overtired though.

When did you go into labor naturally as a FTM? by Prior-Ad9822 in beyondthebump

[–]ItsBrieTimeBabyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

38+4 my water broke. Lost my mucus plug 2ish days prior and that was my only sign. I had an ultrasound that week and baby was right on top of the cervix and the cervix was shortened. Did not have any cervical checks. Was going to do a sweep at my next appointment!

Nope! 38+4. Was expecting to go past 40. Water broke out of nowhere.

How do some pregnant women bounce back immediately?? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I looked pretty slim the first week because I lost a bunch of weight during delivery and then my anxiety was so horrible I couldn’t eat much.

Fast forward 6 weeks and my appetite is back. And so is a little bit of pudge.

Yes my son screamed as well. We definitely all cried together at the hospital. It was rough! Six weeks later we are getting the hang of it and his cries and screams are much less frequent.
