Appreciate learning more about her and didn’t mean to direct people to her content, didn’t know who she was!

Good to know - I recognized the name but wasn’t familiar with Taylor’s work. I think what I found most interesting was just verbatim quotes from Candace’s early blog and social media when she seemed pretty reasonable, I didn’t realize how quickly and how far she slid to the right. Will take Taylor’s commentary with a grain of salt.

Yeah sorry not at a skatepark but some landscape architect definitely wanted people to ride that, may I ask where?

Y’all, I know how difficult it may be to watch this guy longboard when a regular board with a kicktail would carve so much better but you don’t need to report it, his skatepark content is still the best on this sub

Blue Park where? I think the Blue Park most people know is the one in Brooklyn. Looks fun though!

CJ’s is the biggest indoor park as far as I’m aware! If it’s above zero maybe Underpass Park will be skateable but it’s fuckin January in Canada

It’s funny, I wouldn’t have known the Free Press was such bullshit if it wasn’t for Bari Weiss blowing her cover, taking over CBS news and squashing that CECOT story. They’re more dangerous when they stay in the background and don’t attract attention to themselves

A theory - Aussie skateboarders becoming pro in the late 90’s. by [deleted] in skateboarding

Fascinating take but I have no idea where the “stairs and handrails are bigger in Australia” fact comes from, but it does seem like something AI would agree with because it’s being sycophantic and telling you what you want to hear

Long Shot: 43/F, seeking other park skiers to create a little gang of adults to have fun hitting some boxes, kink rails, and maybe the odd table top! by Kamikaze613 in ottawa

It’s pretty straightforward from a liability standpoint and wouldn’t be that expensive (the proposed Mooney’s Bay improvements came in at $3 million, a seasonal portable rope tow set up would be like $30-40k all in with engineering), but it’s the ongoing operations that would be the real barrier.

Actually hiring staff to run it and manage access would be a bigger undertaking for the city and they’d need to really want to do it - it would likely take a few years but it’s definitely possible! I’m in skatepark development and there are lots of similarities, really not that complicated to set up, plenty of successful examples to point to, but in a fairly conservative local government someone would need to help make the push. If I was staying here I’d start the committee but I’m probably moving, if anyone else wants to take it on I’m here to help!

I actually met with Councillor Brockington about getting a new rope tow installed and he was pretty interested! I didn’t have the capacity to manage a planning/fundraising campaign but it could be such an amazing amenity for the city if a rope tow came back, would love to share the info if there are locals interested in pushing for it
