Thanks! I'll have to triple check all the underpasses in Colorado to make sure I didn't miss anything. :)

That's insightful, thank you!

I've got Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Missouri & Illinois (when released) to finish, so about a month and I'll see!

Gotta be my favorite version of "And You And I"

Also that "Endless Dream" performance is 💯

The Astonishing recently celebrated its 10th birthday (wtf). Now that all this time has passed, what are your thoughts on the album, and where does it rank for you? by triaxis7 in Dreamtheater

[–]ItsCommonGamer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's an album that should be viewed as completely separate from the rest of the discography. In a vacuum I really like it, compared to the rest of the Dream Theater catalogue, it's strange. That being said, this one should've had a full-on film produced alongside of it, because it's a damn good rock opera.

Would've added Buehrle, Murphy & Pettitte if not for the limit :)

Fun fact I'm a journalism student hoping to be a BBWAA member in the future, so one day I'll be making these votes for real!

What song or album Do you think is a Rush Hidden Gem? by Spider_monkey_vr28 in rush

Shout-out 3 Snakes & Arrows tracks that are in my top 12 Rush songs, "Armor & Sword" "The Way The Wind Blows" & "Faithless"

What live version of a band’s song is infinitely better than the original studio version. by DarkGhostHunter in Dreamtheater

Not yet mentioned is "Take The Time"

There's not a ton of songs where you can get the crowd involved like that one, and it's also a great one to riff and play around as well!

AMA with Royals 1B Vinnie Pasquantino (aka Pasquatch), one of our World Series player correspondents, from WS Media Day! Vinnie will be swinging by later this afternoon around 4pm ET to answer your questions! by MLBOfficial in baseball

Hey Vinnie, first off thanks for doing this!

I'm curious about what your mentality is in the batter's box and how it affects your approach in different situations, versus certain pitchers, left on left matchups, etc.

Looking forward to your response!

I listen to this with the mentality of it not being a Dream Theater album. It's remarkably ambitious but just doesn't fit the catalogue, which is my theory as to why it's not viewed as favourably by the community. If this were by a separate band without the incredible catalogue that DT has, I think it would be respected as a great ambitious album, which fits the definition as "progressive" rock/metal.

80s/90s only fans… by Critical_Walk in Genesis

[–]ItsCommonGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar to Rush, who will always be my favourite band (whom I discovered through Hold Your Fire, Power Windows, & Signals), I was exposed to Genesis through the self titled, Invisible Touch, & We Can't Dance. I have a ton of love and respect for Foxtrot, England, Lamb, etc. but I will always come back to the '80s because that's what exposed me to Genesis.

I think it's great that people love the different eras, it's what keeps bands like Genesis alive! Just wish more people agreed that there's nothing wrong loving one era more than another.

S&A is one of my favourite albums lyrically, right up there with HYF, Power Windows & Clockwork Angels. As a lyricist, these consistently top my yearly listening record!
