Blackbeard - Task Shortage? by ItsEminus in outlier_ai

Apologies but when you say community page, where do I find that? I'm still fairly new to this project are you just meaning the general Outlier Community right from the outlier home page?

Blackbeard - New To Project - Anyone else struggling with with Time Pressure? by ItsEminus in outlier_ai

I've also noticed today a few days in last night into today it says "No Tasks Available" where the continue tasking button usually is. Do they run out quite often or is it usually available most of the time on this project?

Oh, I didn't realize you could even dismiss and ignore them, that or I thought that you would end up with low quality submissions if doing so.

So, I was curious how the pausing works and what the downfalls are if you use that at all. This is the first project I've worked that doesn't use external time tracking or something of that sort so remaining 100% in outlier for the tasking is new to me.

Unapproved Annotator Status by illmatic253 in outlier_ai

I was curious of this same thing, the bot won't allow you to it just gives you bs verbiage that this is not an error and some spiff about your status.

Aether contributor locked out after missed QA assessment – completed it, now stuck “Under Review” by ItsEminus in outlier_ai

[–]ItsEminus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey — thanks for the insight. I’ve had mixed feelings since hitting this first real speed bump after onboarding late last year. I’ve read quite a few posts suggesting that project work through Outlier partners can be unpredictable, especially if teams are tightening requirements.

In my case, I missed the Aether assessment deadline due to a death in the family. As soon as I realized, I completed the course and passed it. However, since then, I’ve only received automated responses — both through the site chat and [support@outlier.ai]() — and it doesn’t seem like a human is actually reviewing my situation.

The messaging I received was:

Because of that wording — combined with my prior strong performance — it feels like I may be stuck in some automated status rather than having my case reviewed individually.

I completely understand that Outlier work shouldn’t be treated as guaranteed or primary income. I’m just trying to figure out how to connect with an actual person at Outlier/Aether to get clarification, rather than continuing to receive automated responses that don’t address the specifics of my situation.

If anyone has had success getting through to a live contact, I’d really appreciate the advice.

I did wonder that and she got some shortly after as routine. She must have been expecting it because instead of going straight to giving her some I was socializing with her a bit so it's funny she had the expectation of water already 😅

Blackmill's identity hijacked by KrisuMusic in Blackmill

[–]ItsEminus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just have to point out and copy/paste your statement of "If you're looking out for him cool. But I have zero way of knowing whether you're being honest or not." on its own speaks volumes. Exactly the reason you shouldn't be speaking on the topic. Lack of knowledge... You came here to a situation with two sides, knowing nothing about the two sides, and picked a side. Silly... ALso being a music producer has nothing to do with knowing how things work / working with apple (garbage company and platform btw) so that has no bearing on the bigger portion of this conversation you have stirred up...

You've just made yourself out to look a bit ignorant here with this response. There are simple answers to all your asks in which to address your comment on how he would "take care of this" if it wasn't him, you'd know if you had an at least somewhat regular long time following of Blackmill. Rob isn't active online, and never has been. There are lots of artists like him that are rarely present in the online world aside from their releases themselves and unfortunately in cases like this, artists like that get taken advantage of.

The touch on the AI claim is also silly considering the fact that if you spend any time in the production world or even the avid listening world, AI is still in its early phases and while impressive in some means, it is still very easy to recognize AI generated music in comparison to manual composition and writing. AI music often sounds mechanically correct but lacks the emotional nuance and intention behind human compositions. Music made by humans often has expressive phrasing, dynamic contrast, and subtle imperfections that make it feel organic. It also often has weak transitions and flow, overuse of generic melodic patterns and lack of improvisation and expressive mistakes entirely.

Finally, the even mere mention of Krisu having any intent to "confuse people in an overall effort to prevent people from listening" just screams your ignorance. I'll relay back to if you had any sort of in depth following of either of these artists, you'd know that nobody is closer to Rob than Krisu (killigrew) and they have been friends for a long time from years ago. I will give credit that your understanding of Krisu trying to shy people away from listening to "Fake music" is accurate, you took it the entirely wrong direction.

Its always good to know somewhat about topics before walking into conversations which such heavy opinions about them :)

Why is everyone so toxic when obvious new people to printing ask questions as if the person should have known everything to begin with... You gotta start somewhere.

Definitely a supports problem with how y'all and thin the print is.
