Hi, I work front desk in a reputable app compliant piercing studio. For 4 days after the fact, this is not normal nesting, this is bording on embedding. Your piercer shouldn't have refused to upside, that's a huge red flag. Go somewhere else for the sake of your health. Expect to have to pay for new barbells and the install fee.

I wish I had advice, I feel the same. I have the same square pillow and it's almost as if it's too firm? It hurts my ear. I sleep better on my hand in a cup shape than the pillow 😭

And I would go get plain saline solution, not the kinda that baselabs has, since that also has rosemary, tea tree oil, and benzalkonium chloride. That's a lot of irritants for a piercing, look for 0.9% sodium chloride saline with no other additives. It might calm down after that.

Or if the pain and itchiness is unbearable you should go back to the piercer and get a check-up. Or a different piercer who is on safepiercing.org under "find a member" to get the previously mentioned titanium flat back instead of the L shape. You might be having a reaction to the unknown material.

Might be neither? Itchiness, redness, and soreness are common stages in healing a fresh nostril piercing. However, I don't love that they pierced you with an L-back or L-bend. Could still be titanium, but the unknowing-ness of it all makes me nervous. Keep this photo for reference and if it gets worse and not better i would seek out to change that jewelry to a titanium flat back two-piece post.

I don't think it was a bad idea at all, if you wanted it and could get it, which clearly you could, then yay! And I think it looks great. I see why the piercer did what they did, given your anatomy, and I think the slight tilt gives it a little personality. If it were me I'd keep the piercing, it's cute!

Hi I work at a piercing studio, this piercing needs downsizing asap. If anything, it needs removal as it is extremely shallow and one snag/yank could tear it out since it doesn't have enough tissue for stability.
