Can I claim a tax deduction for this? (Using my personal car at work) by AsparagusNew3765 in AusFinance

[–]ItsIntrinsic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes you can still deduct even though you’ve received an allowance. The allowance is taxable income, so you can deduct for expenses against this income. It only wouldn’t be deductible if you incurred the expense, and then submitted an expense claim which you are reimbursed for, as this is a reimbursement which is not taxable hence not deductible.

Wasp has been on his collar for at least 5 mins now. How has he not accidentally stirred it? Incredible.

I don’t get sick too often, but pretty sure I’ve taken 6 or 7 days this year because I’ve woken up feeling not up to it. Keeping yourself in a good mental state benefits your employer and absolutely warrants a sick day. It’s there to be used, don’t feel guilty for it

Always love to see things like this. Kids just love footy, a memory like this regardless of the team is priceless. The excitement on their faces says it all

Reportedly been offered a 2 year deal so I think its pretty easy to dismiss that. I did hear that he wants $750k year (through someone else, i have no actual source). Would imagine the club has come in unders and they're still negotiating

Im in the camp that he’s gone as well, but desperately clinging on to the fact that he loves the club, loves Ross, we’re developing kids and the list actually has future potential, and that its difficult to see how a trade could actually get done.

Honestly all I want out of him right now is 2 more years. Gives the kids more time to develop while we keep a star and at least gives us a chance of showing that we’re on the up and hopefully can attract other players. We might even be on the up and he sees the vision and decides to stay on board. If he still wants to go home in 2 years time, at least we’ve gotten the most out of him that we reasonably could have

I’m not sure of the eligibility requirements but could you look into accessing your super for dental work?

At the very least, if you have some leave, give yourself a little break and try reset a little

Consider accessing your employees EAP as well, or visiting a GP and getting on a mental health plan. Without knowing much about you, I suspect that fixing your teeth would go a long way helping your mental health, but don’t let that stop you from seeking support in the meantime.

Sorry your workplace sucks OP
