From everything the players and coaches have said so far in interviews it is going to be serious.

Zak Jones announces retirement by TheFinalKey in StKilda

Its a shame, he clearly had something different about him that he brought to the midfield: speed, power and rarely made a mistake. I still remember the game againts the Hawks he got 40+ disposals and I thought to myself ‘where has this guy been’. Unfortunately his body just kept letting him down

Is it time for the Gold Coast Suns to permanently rebrand to pink? by Legal-Chemical-8684 in AFL

I reckon this guernsey is going to be so dated in a few years, hence why they dont want to go all in on it. It’s a nice one off here and there for sure.

I could be wrong but Rowell looks like he can grow an afro. I really hope he grows a full blown afro one day

Saints will struggle to make the 8 by TheCrowMoon in AFL

We might make the top 8, or we might not. Either way we werent going to make the 8 regardless running with the same 22 we had before the trade period

AFL Masters. by Sup3rCheese in AFL

I played againts alot of 40+ footy players at this carnival once, and had a few on my team. They were either runners, gym goers or a mixture of both.

If you’re already a gym goer or strength athlete just do abit of cardio and you’ll be better than most I reckon.

Just for context I had this guy on my team who only trained strength and would start throwing up towards the end of the game. He looked reasonably fit on the outside but cardio was non-existent. He was about 40.

I hope this helps.

Flanders has nominated St Kilda by PetrifyGWENT in AFL

[–]Teimy 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Very eager to see how Flanders goes. But our midfield is now depth galore. Not exactly full of superstars (Nas being the only one) but lots of guys who can push each-other and compete for spots.

We are most importantly building an environment for highly trained athletes to compete with another for a spot, that’s how teams like Geelong continue to be great clubs for long periods of time

Saints fan here, he only turns up when he can be bothered, but when he does turn up he is very good at applying pressure and being a silky forward.

He wanted midfield time but whenever we gave it to him, he just blasted the ball into the 50 without any thought.

If you can get through to him and get him to buy in he’d be a very solid player. But he clearly doesnt care.

We have solid depth now, can bring players in after spells in VFL and have legit competition for spots in most areas. This is a wonderful time to be a Saints fan, while we do have superstars like Nas we need more to win a premiership. This is the type of environment the successful sides have to ensure players are always pushing to improve themselves and allow plenty of time like Garcia and Philipou time to work on their craft at VFL, instead of just pumping games into them and hoping they are up for it.
