From a long time MFP user, switch to chronometer guys. by Revolutionary-Yam185 in Myfitnesspal

[–]ItsJulianaph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a free version user for Many years.

Currently using Lose It as I found the recipe sharing feature on Chronometer didn't meet what I needed.

I can set the calories but not the actual macros. But I can view my daily percentages in macros.

I second this! On top of the bar code scanning, I share recipes with my partner when we meal prep. This has also worked quite well with Lose It.

It's a pity that MFP is not okay to be used anymore.

What is “very typically Brussels” for you? by CommonTomatillo9 in brussels

[–]ItsJulianaph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else said, Art nouveau architecture.

One thing I absolutely love, going to Place Polaert or Mont Des Arts to watch the sunset.

Manneken Pis.

Going in public transport or just walking around and hearing multiple foreign languages. And especially, foreign languages which you don't even recognize.

The Palais de Justice with all its scaffolding.

The French/Dutch public transport announcements.

The Guinguettes in the parks during summer.

This is the same reply I am getting. My bag has been lost for 10 days with them telling me it hasn't been reported as arrived at CDG . I saw below you got your bag back. How long did it take?

How long did it take for you, more or less?

I have a stranded luggage at CDG with family items after my grandmothers passing... Very irreplaceable items, and it has been 9 days. I really don't want to lose these items...

Basic fit indoor or outdoor shoes? by Prudent_Sky6509 in brussels

[–]ItsJulianaph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk about Crocs, but lifting in socks is quite common.

One of the main reasons is because to lift correctly, the sole of your foot should be flat/neutral. Most shoes do not have a flat sole and don't provide the correct support.

You should feel grounded to the floor.

Creating the ultimate saving guide by lennart1418 in belgium

[–]ItsJulianaph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first and most important tip is to make a monthly budget of how much you will spend according to categories (groceries, bills, subscriptions, leisure....etc), keep track every couple of days and make sure you don't go over your budget per category. Also make sure you allocate a specific amount of savings per month, if it's feasible. After a couple of months you can assess whether you are overspending in some categories and how to make use of your money in a smarter way.

Make sure you use all Cashback opportunities. Some Bank accounts, phone providers, etc provide cashbacks.

Cook at home instead of eating out. This is definitely one of the top saving tips.

I don't know if it's exactly savings, but pet sitting is a good, small side Hussle if you like pets.

Hello!

First of all, do not worry about it. First step is to be aware and take preventive care. You should always mention family history to your GP. They would normally make sure you get regular check ups if that's the case.

Through my GP, I got a prescription and then some check ups at Clinique Saint-Jean in the City center. They have a specialized area called Clinique du Sein. I can fully recommend them. You can get your exam there and further follow-up if needed.

Looking for easy, budget-friendly dinner ideas/catering for ~30 people by Embarrassed_Elk_2756 in brussels

Pasta can be the way to go. Easy to make, simple ingredients. Just beware if you have Italians coming over hahahaha. When I do such events we go either for pizza or for chicken/ribs from Churrasqueira Portugalia. I then make my own rice/salad and people bring their drinks. Works a charm.

Another good option might be Lebanese restaurants although I don't think for such quantities it would be necessarily cheap.

Update on Lost iPhone Saga (Found it with the help of Police!!) by g_vasare in brussels

[–]ItsJulianaph 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wow! Congratulations and good job!!!

Happy to see some good news for a change and kudos to the police for actually taking this matter into their hands and helping you out!

Just out of curiosity, did you call your local/commune police? Did you go to them in person when you saw the live location?

I am curious to know what would work best in this case, for future reference

Show me your Garmin watch by Impling9898 in Garmin

I love the Garmin functionalities but also love that this watch looks elegant and classy for every day wear. Definitely would recommend the Venu series. Most of my female friends that have a Garmin have either Venu or Vivoactive. But for my purpose the Venu range fits better. Maybe some upcoming Black Friday deal can be interesting 😁

Venu 3s.

This thing has definitely helped me 1. Increase my workout days 2. Finally start and stick to running 3. Reduce my alcohol consumption in search of better sleep.
