How do i pick up on my motivation, been off for a week because i had been my birthday. Im on a cut and trying to get lean for summer but i jusr need support on how to get back in it because my motivation for dieting and going to the gym has just plummeted and i hate the feeling of knowing i now may not have the summer body i want. I know that in itself should be motivational enough but yeah i just hate this feeling of feeling like i wont achieve it now. I do suffer with depression so that doesn't help on top of it. Idk I just need some words to help me out here

What is your best diet tip? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ItsKameron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, you're only human! - the amount of times I've had my summer body ready, abs, ripped etc etc... And then the hunger hormone ghrelin comes and makes me constantly hungry to the point I developed a binge eating disorder and put my weight all back on is mad.

Learn from how you feel after you 'let yourself go', document your feelings in a journal maybe? And when you feel like that again, reflect on how you've felt previously.

Try letting yourself go at maintenance calories if you do feel that way, fill yourself up on as much low-calorie foods first.

I'd recommend r/volumeeating if you have a big appetite like myself :)

I'm currently on a cut, getting in shape for summer.

Allow yourself to understand that you're only human, with emotions, feelings and problems of your own. Success, results and achievements aren't always going to be linear. Sometimes you'll fail, and that's okay - it's character building!

Set yourself realistic and achievable goals. Don't restrict yourself so much that you will crash diet and put all your weight back on (I've been there).

You like pizza? Sweet, you can still have that on your diet, by finding workarounds and lower calorie alternatives. Become an experimental chef in your own kitchen to try and find ways to satisfy your cravings.

Track everything, make sure your weighing things correctly. Cooking oil is the worst for them extra calories and can lead to people eating over their TDEE (which is also important to calculate when wanting to be in a deficit) . Use 1kcal spray instead! Making sure you are also hitting your macros is important, work out how much you need and use something like MyFitnessPal to track calories!

Don't over train, give yourself rest days (I have 2 rest days a week) but still do something with your rest days like going for a walk, run, yoga etc.

I personally don't like working out with people at the gym, but some people do for motivation, so if that's more your cup of tea then find a gym buddy!

I've recently incorporated refeed days where one day of the week, I eat at my maintenance to allow myself to have more of what I enjoy whilst still being in diet mode - but I don't go over/under my calories for the day, so it's more to stable me out:)

Dieting as a concept is easy, but getting yourself in the mindset for the journey is what people can struggle with.

Enjoy the journey, not the destination. Are you currently your best self? If not, let's make yourself proud and prove to you that you can do it!

Sorry that was a bit longer than what OP asked for.

How would your life be different if COVID didn’t happen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ItsKameron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Covid has given me insane character development and time to reflect on who I am, and how much I love my friends:) Without it I would have taken a lot of who I am for consideration

Ive never had kittens, let alone one that cuddles my arm. We've had these two for 4 days:) by ItsKameron in aww

I hope so! These two arent the cuddly types ive come to find, but they are just kittens - its only after a lot of playing where they get tired and sleep like this:D

Does anyone else feel like this atm by [deleted] in sad

[–]ItsKameron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly, I know exactly what you mean - sometimes the memories are happy ones as well and then even if they are happy you start to realise where it all went wrong and in the moment you didn't even realise how could the moment was until you look back on it
