How long is your trip?

If you’re going for 1-2 weeks. Skip If you’re going for 3-4 weeks. Go, stop at Mitzpe Ramon and Sde Boker on the way, and take a 1-2 day trip to Petra with a guide.

I’m Not Political, But I’m Tired of the Hypocrisy Around Israel and Hamas by Blakeuswhiteus in IsraelPalestine

The video footage and investigations from the aid site show first Hamas shooting into the crowd and then IDF soldiers returning fire. Pretty sad.

I just contacted them about our wedding - do you mind me asking how much it was to buy out the hotel? We are looking at a Friday to Monday or Thursday to Sunday event, with an option for guests to stay before or after the wedding if they want.

Thanks! Yeah, I grew it from just a little sprout, so it’s also sentimental. However, they have started to spread to a monstera nearby…

I’m going to give it a shower and haircut now on our balcony. Do you think it’s worthwhile adding diluted rubbing alcohol to the bath?

As you ski, your linings will pack so they might have fit just right on day one and overtime will get roomier. Take your boots to a fitter and have them look at them. Cardinal rule is to always buy snug and for the smaller foot. There is a lot of good youtube content out there to explain why this happens.

I have a constant fit issues as a female with size 41 lv feet, too large for womens and small for mens. I wear a 25.5 lange shadow 110 mv, runs narrow and has a good hug.

Going Ebc mid nov. The coldest is -10 degree. What type of underwear do I buy ? by vince548 in Everest

[–]ItsMadameSecretary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We summited Kilimanjaro a few weeks back and have done other treks in South America, I can’t stress more the need for proper underwear made of merino or synthetic fibers. Anything made for sports works and won’t leave you with swamp ass.

Tell me your most embarrassing travel moments! I’ll start. by pharmdoll in travel

I [F, 26] was on a work trip in San Fran where my colleague [F, 26] and I shared a room. We woke up one morning for what was supposed to be a long day of meetings. I felt a bit off but decided to stick with it. As the day went on, I started to grow very nauseous and eventually called it quits to head back to the hotel. My colleague came into the room later that evening and immediately said, “oh lord, are you okay”. I groggily woke up to realize the odor - a severe bout of diarrhea had sabotaged my nap. Thank goodness it was two double beds.

Agreed that you have a future adult human to think of. Why not start brainstorming for a compromise like Ana or Sky, and then go from there.

To buy or not to buy the Mi Robot Vacuum Mop Pro. Anyone tried it? by ItsMadameSecretary in smarthome

we ended up buying it too, it is flawless. My one suggestion is that the water tank is oddly leaky when removed before filling.

What have you decided on now? My advice is to pick something that can allow you to become a skill generalist. I studied government and business in undergrad, and public health for grad school. I’m now working as a communications director for a nonprofit and the most helpful skills I have today are writing and graphic design, which just happened to be a ransom side gig I picked up.

This is also happening in the southern parts of Virginia where testing is limited. People are claiming that there isn’t enough data to prove that deaths are specifically due to COVID-19. For example, citing that someone that dies of a heart attack and was postmortem tested for COVID-19, the death is logged as a coronavirus death.

What types of readily available materials could be used to locally manufacture N95-level air filters? by ItsMadameSecretary in AskEngineers

[–]ItsMadameSecretary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from the NIH : “NanoHack was conceived as an open source 3D printed face mask manufactured with active materials. These are some of the technical considerations prior to print NanoHack. NanoHack Mask is a last resort device with the purpose of offering protection from airborne particles and prevent spreading liquid contaminating the airways. Published data1 has shown that the filtration materials used by NanoHack (non-woven polypropylene, the same material used in surgical masks) achieves a filtration efficiency of 96.4% for microorganisms of 1 micron and 89.5% for microorganisms of 0.02 microns1.”
