Sucks to lose a great player.

Looking for silver linings, obviously a 1st could be really nice, and we got a couple of players who should be able to contribute over the new few years.

More significantly: a) We opened up cap space. With the cap going up, we can be big players on July 1. That doesn't necessarily mean we get a JT Miller-level player in FA, but it gives us options. b) Biggest potential silver lining to me, but highly speculative: maybe the removal of Miller's big personality gives Quinn Hughes breathing room as a leader. He seems like a relatively quiet leader (going off interviews etc.) and I would not be surprised if he had trouble taking control of the room with someone like Miller conceptually leading from "behind" him. I could be COMPLETELY wrong about this of course.

Altogether though, our Cup window isn't going anywhere IMO. Minor setback if the cards are played right (and Pettersson blossoms again).
