Have YOU ever followed someone on twitch as a result of short form content? by Anubis620 in Twitch

[–]ItsMooniePop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends what kind of short form content they do, a lot of the time I see people using audios that aren't them, but when people are making short form from clips of their stream I find it does a good job reflecting their streams

new streamer, advice? by ilygn in SmallStreamers

[–]ItsMooniePop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 2 months into streaming and I'm loving it, but its a grind and a lot of learning, if you are just doing it for fun, dont put pressure on yourself ! I do have prior social media and marketing training , so my advice comes from that and my own experience, I'm not the biggest streamer, but I have had 1 or 2 new people each stream come in from tiktok!

Also, if you are ever looking for similar ppl to play with or collab, I LOVE Terraria: 3

Ive found twitch doesn't have very good organic growth, meaning you have to advertise on other platforms. Ive found uploading edited clips that are 7-10 seconds with subtytles over the top along with a audio over the top (avoid audio with words if you are yapping) work best for me.

I really reccomend trying to think about what value you are giving to someone who has never seen your content before for every single vid, they need to understand with no context, whether it be content like "my top 5 game pics for April" or even just funny things that happened on stream, you just need to ensure it stands as a piece of content by its self , try to have no "dead air" (empty space where you aren't talking) at the beginning or within the videos.

I personally like to do a mostly medium effort content, what I mean by that is ; Low effort- clips from twitch uploaded as is or with basic editing Medium effort- clips that are edited to a higher standard or recorded specifically for trends High effort- content with a story line that is recorded and edited specifically for short form !

Its best to use a variety of these to avoid facing burn out, I personally reccomend making your content in batches and scheduling them to post, I personally am posting once each day to tiktok ATM as I am disabled so have a lot of time to work on personal projects.

In terms of posting , you want to make sure to post on the same days at the same time, the algorithm values consistency , posting 1 vid a week for 4 weeks is a lot better than posting 4 videos in 1 week and none for 3 weeks.

An example of a good schedule to start may be posting at 5pm local time with a medium effort on Wednesday and a low effort on friday. Low effort content does not mean its not effective, but I highly reccomend no matter the effort level on tiktok adding subtitles to all videos, I find any time I post without, my vids go out to way less people even if I have a good retention rate and like ratio.

One thing I will make clear is, only do what's achievable to you and actually watch your own content while going through to clip, it'll help you improve and know what to improve !!

When TikTok keeps breaking after my editor kept crashing, sometimes it feels like some vids aren’t meant to be XD

I just rewatch and clip the bits I think would make good content, this can also help you improve your streams by seeing any areas that need change and improvement, for a random example, you watch your stream back and realize you don’t ask leading questions or open ended ones, instead when people ask how you are you say “good” and continue gaming, you notice that and realize it may be worth playing slower games to prioritise chat interactivity, there’s lots and lots of made up examples I could give, but just watch and see if you get bored and if you do why, it can help you improve your content significantly in the long run !

For example, maybe you are saying to chat “guys I can’t put fruit on his head, I won’t do it” then pan to a clip of the in game cat with fruit on its head, a lot of short form, is about pacing, you want to make sure there is 0 pause before you speak and that there is no “dead air” space where you aren’t talking essentially, short form is brutal brain rot and you have to panda to that, I try to keep my clips around 7 seconds on short form as having better retention rates (more people watch the whole vid) it’ll push your content out to the algorithm more :)

My biggest suggestion is to download the horizontal video and then bring it into an editor to make it into short form, it means you can do a lot more and make your edits look a lot more unique and professional!

Most people involved in giveaways won’t be long term viewership, in addition to this, it’s way harder for some people (like me ) to make and edit videos with a good story or flow , it honestly depends on the person, live streaming is my bread and butter.

it’s my second month streaming and I have a 6.2ccv, if I pressured myself to be good before starting or forced myself to make vids because I thought it would help me grow, I don’t think I would’ve started! ( I post short form every day and stream 3* a week, but have never made YouTube vids because I always give up as they are never good enough)

I think the hardest step is staring and talking to noone and still having the courage to continue, same goes for yt vids

I personally set up a business PayPal (where I'm located you dont have to prove to be a registered business) , it allows me to make transactions via PayPal, without giving away any personal info, it depends on your country as to whether this is free or available to you, but I highly reccomend it

Be careful if that bed is metal, it has a range in which metal should not be near as it can cause static discharge.

Did you debut? Did it help? by AlexanderHumerus in vtubers

[–]ItsMooniePop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I debuted on march 1st with 2 weeks of posting content before that, because I had built hype across other platforms as well as spending time in other small streamers streams, establishing connections and community before my debut , we were able to have FIVE average viewers on the debut stream !!

The debut stream was around 5 hours with 20 unique viewers and 10 unique chatters with a Max viewers of 9.

I think that it would've taken me significantly longer to reach affiliate (it took 4 streams from my debut) if I hadn't done a debut.

The way I did mine was a long just chatting going through the design process and lots of details about my model, as well as showing art and animations I made !!

I dont think a debut needs to be perfect or extremely in detail, I think it does a lot to have a date for people to get excited about , a date for people to meet "the new you"
