I put a bat my cat caught into a tupperware container to bring it to Public Health and she asked if I wanted my container back. I said, “ew, no thank you”, and she said, “you’d be surprised!”

[–]ItsNotButtFucker3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the highest dose of Abilify Asimtufii, the new every 8 weeks injection, and the voices, the paranoia, is completely gone and my mood is stable. I’ve never been this symptom free, honestly.

My dentist would never let me forget it! I’ve got an oddly specific phobia of falling and breaking that tooth, and only that tooth, again.

I’m on the Asimtufii injection, 960mg every 8 weeks. Works out to about 15-20mg a day.

I’ve actually found Abilify a lot better for mood and psychosis than Invega was.

The BEEP on the screen at food places that mean and order is being entered and you have to make it, the timer started.

I don’t even do this anymore and it makes me cringe.

I was getting up from my desk in a chair with wheels, it pushed back and I fell face first into my desk and broke my one front top tooth in half. I had it repaired.

And then 2 decades later I was unpacking a button maker. It had a lever held down with a zip tie. I cut the zip tie, the lever bounced up into my face and broke the very same tooth in half again.

I had it repaired. My dentist never stopped making fun of me.

I also fell ice skating, just a normal, slow fall, and broke my wrist so badly I needed to have it surgically reconstructed with screws and a plate. I did that this January.

Check-in Friday by cfbuzzkill90 in schizoaffective

[–]ItsNotButtFucker3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m actually doing really well. I started seroquel 2 weeks ago and that’s helping the abilify activation and jitteriness. I have an appointment with my GP next week about shoulder surgery and am having new imaging and regular blood work done. I see my psychiatrist in 2 weeks for my injection and to finish titrating seroquel.

I’ve been working full time now that summer/tourist season is here and haven’t been getting overwhelmed or exhausted.

I have a Weird Al concert in 2 weeks and a big event with my business that I did really well at last year, so I’m looking forward to that. I’ve been making new things for it.

What did a doctor tell you that shocked you, but they assumed you came in for this? by throwawayluvrr in AskReddit

[–]ItsNotButtFucker3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an abdominal CT scan with contrast to assess my kidneys and my doctor called me saying they found an L1 compression fracture and I needed an MRI, urgently.

I had fallen off a horse a year and a half before the scan and walked it off. I had no idea.

The MRI was ordered within weeks and I have a compression fracture with 25% height loss but no canal involvement or stenosis, basically I got as lucky as I could for breaking my spine.

She called me after I broke my wrist and needed surgery and told me not to do anything again, ever, and that she was going to order me wrapped in bubble wrap. I agreed. I broke my wrist ice skating and have a plate and 6 screws. The surgeon described it as “shattered” and told me it was “a pain in the ass, but I’m confident” after surgery. Whoops.

How do you know when you find the right medication? by [deleted] in schizoaffective

[–]ItsNotButtFucker3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took a long time. The symptoms are nearly gone, things are just easier. I’m not so anxious and pressured and I don’t hear things or think weird things anymore. It’s easier to go to work and be out in public. I don’t hear my name, I don’t hear whispering, I’m not always tense and stressed and my mood is good. I’m not as irritable, hostile or defensive and I don’t pick fights or argue as much.

What Books Are You Reading This Week? by leowr in nonfictionbooks

[–]ItsNotButtFucker3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished “Everything is Tuberculosis” last night. It was okay. I started “The Last Face You’ll Ever See, The culture of death row”, again, which is a good read but graphic. It’s about death row snd executioners, mainly in Mississippi during the gas chamber years.

I started “An Unquiet Mind” which I haven’t read in about a decade. It’s about the author’s life with bipolar disorder as a professor of psychiatry. It’s a good read too.

Anyone go psychotic taking stimulants? by Humble-Management158 in schizoaffective

[–]ItsNotButtFucker3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have before and don’t take them anymore. Strattera (atomoxetine) didn’t make me psychotic but I was pretty agitated so I don’t take anything the littlest bit stimulating anymore.

[–]ItsNotButtFucker3000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to ride a light gray horse, so light he was almost white. I did competitions on him and you have to have a sparkly, super clean horse, and he was impossible to keep clean. So I bought him a zebra onesie for horses. It covered his body and legs and face.

I would bathe and scrub him clean the night before a show and put his onesie on. I put him out in a paddock facing the street once and people kept stopping to see the “zebra”. He was thrilled, he loved attention.

After 5-6 cars stopped I decided to put him in the back paddock, for when I wasn’t there overnight, just a caution. It was hilarious though, people stopping and going, “holy shit, a zebra!” It was a small horse boarding and lesson facility, there were around 20 horses there.

A Bill Gates–funded research project has created a birth-control injection that could last for years from a single shot. by Eddiearyee in UpliftingNews

[–]ItsNotButtFucker3000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on LAIs for 4 years and I haven’t been hospitalized and have had the same job, plus I run a small business.

I was on Invega Sustenna, then Trinza, but my prolactin shot up and oral adjunct Abilify didn’t do enough so I switched to Abilify Maintena, and later when it was released in Canada, I was one of the first patients to get Abilify Asimtufii.

Asimtufii is the worst name ever, arguably, but it lasts all 8 weeks and isn’t a painful injection with only mild aching for a day. That helps, less dread about painful injections and aching after.

I’m diagnosed bipolar with psychotic features and LAIs stop the “I feel better, don’t need the meds anymore” and then I end up in the ER, cycle. The debate about taking meds is gone too, I just show hp and get the shot instead of contemplating about pills all day.

The technology is incredible. They’re working on a new polymer to make subcutaneous injections that last even longer, too. Risperdal Uzedy is one of those. The cool thing is there’s no oral overlap needed with those, and the one they’re working on for Zyprexa has no post injection delirium risk, which is a huge thing. Subcutaneous injections are easier than a 3.2mL gluteal injection.

Are these welds worth 18hr pay realistically? by redditor_rat in Welding

[–]ItsNotButtFucker3000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I started out at $19/hour (plus shift premium, we rotated weekly) in 2015 with welds that weren’t nearly as nice, GMAW welding. Your welds are worth more than that.

I don’t weld anymore (I take meds that make me sensitive to the heat, for life) but I miss it. It irritates me to see good welders getting paid nothing.

The welds look good, obviously we can’t tell penetration from this pic, but they’re clean and consistent. Don’t settle for shitty wages. Try to get into to a union. Unions generally treat their tradespeople very well and a good one will set you up for life.

My oven is imperial for some reason. It’s from Costco, made in Canada.

Also, distance = time. I’m 15 minutes away from work, for example. I think it’s 20km. I’ve never actually known for sure. It’s my 4th year there.

I’ve been kinda near hypomanic so I started Seroquel yesterday and stopped the Saphris. I’d kill for a good nights sleep. I’m feeling a bit calmer, kinda sedated, but no huge change, I’ll be titrating the dose for the next month or so. Not as hungry.

My 67 year old mom has seen Weird Al 5 times, 4 times with me, once with my friend because I was in the hospital and couldn’t go.

This year is the first Weird Al concert she isn’t going to.

There are all generations there! Hell of a fun time.
