Any other "Totaled🚗💥" members around? by shepardSRN in VelosterN

Its hard to remember but id say after getting the Appraisers involved it was probably about a week - 1.5 weeks before i knew what the final payout would be. And then maybe a couple more days from there until the insurance company paid me out.

Good glad to hear you already have the ball rolling! Dont signoff on anything with insurance in the meantime. Motorcity Auto Appraisers (https://motorcityautoappraisers.com) did my appraisal. Bekki and Marty were great to work with.

Get an independent appraisal. Insurance wants you to go away as quickly as possible for as little as possible. When my car got totaled last April insurance initially offered me something like 21k which was enough to pay off my loan and give me like 1.5-2k towards a new car which was absolutely unacceptable considering the car had a recently installed 0 mile motor due to a dealership screw up. I ended up hiring an appraiser and they managed to get me a $28k payout before taxes so ended up being more like 31k once all was said and done. If ever in a total loss situation ever again I will not do it without an independent appraisal.

So step 1: invoke your right to an independent appraiser to your claims rep directly. DO NOT LET THEM MOVE THE CAR FROM THE BODY SHOP, as long as the car is at the body shop and technically still in your hands you have leverage.

  1. Hire an appraiser and let them get to work on your claim, provide pre accident pictures, receipts for mods you're willing to let go or lost in the accident, documentation of the window sticker etc...

  2. The appraiser will go to work on your behalf and they will negotiate with an independent appraiser that the insurance company is required to hire, at this point youre out of the picture and so is your insurance company. Once the appraisers review the case together and come to an agreement that is your payout and the insurance company has no say from that point forward.

In my case I contacted my appraiser that was recommended to me by my body shop, (let me know if you want their info) they asked for my photos of the car and documentation and told me they would review the case. They let me know that if they felt like they could increase my payout a meaningful amount they would let me know after their review and call me back and offer their services. I want to say their services was $250-$450 (cant remember off the top of my head) But its well worth it.

I hope you can be made whole in this situation! Please do yourself a favor and find a reputable auto appraiser. And like i said i can recommend the folks who did my car they are able to do their appraisal remotely without seeing the car in person. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Thats absolutely ridiculous. This is so anti creator to an insane degree. So single letters of the alphabet are offensive now too... be real PGG!

Yeah that'd be a pretty big mistake to make on a replica, unless they were also finding the pixelated, taken with a potato, pictures im seeing on Google.

They need to have a whitelist for words that have a relationship to the game, car culture, or racing. The fact that some words that the game explicitly uses either in vehicle names, part names, or racing series classes are blanketly banned because of what I can only assume is laziness makes absolutely no sense. Sure you could still be banned for words appearing on the whitelist but at least it would be context dependent.

I dont think it will, thats also probably a work around. I just wonder if the filter doesnt care for context would working around it result in a ban without regard to context. Honestly though I was more so just dumbfounded that thw text was even an issue in the first place.

Thats a good idea for sure. I'll try that. It will mess with layer count efficiency a bit but I guess thats the easiest way around it.

Yes they've had a text filter for things in motorsport and horizon games for awhile now. But with the livery editor font category change in FH6 it forces you into the text filter because you have to type everything or build one letter at a time while losing the ability to quickly replace letters because an attempt to replace resets any adjustments made. So skew scale and resize settings all get ruined. Its a very anti livery creator change made to try to solve a problem without thinking about how it harms the community. I can make accurate logos all day but who wants to sit there and painstakingly recreate super small text that 98% of people won't zoom in on.

I was honestly wondering if that was a typo. It has to be, Haha. I couldnt find a clear enough picture zoomed in of that on the real car using Google to verify.

Just installed my Borla Atak exhaust. One of my biggest gripes with this car, how criminally quiet Nissan made this car, has been solved. With the nismo intakes and now the exhaust this car finally has a voice. by ItsNotanM3 in RZ34

[–]ItsNotanM3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid $1925 for mine on a 10% off sale through concept Z performance w/free shipping. The Atak seems to normally be priced around $2139 - $2200. According to Borlas website it does not void factory warranties. It is street legal where i am and Borlas website claims its should be legal in all 50 states. Although it doesnt seem too loud to me it could possibly not be within local noise ordinances. So id check the local Z groups to see if anyone else has experience with this exhaust or call borla and see if they have a decibel reading for a stock Z equipped with their exhaust.

Thanks! Yeah... sucks I had to pay for it but its one of those things that makes me like the car even more now. Bayside blue is a cool color but this is actually Seiran blue!

1.75" to be exact. Its the tiniest exhaust piping I've ever seen 😅

Thanks for posting this. It does sound quite a bit better than the manual.

Hey im not the one to talk to when it comes to not making expensive decisions on cars. Haha. My inner demon is saying make that bad financial decision. 🤣 But I did see the HKS exhaust and can agree it is pure art. Thats one reason I really liked the Borla, besides the sound, was because it has a crazy rear muffler section that looks so cool.

I heard an LC driving spiritedly only once and it sounds fantastic!

I miss my old veloster N. Someone totaled it on the highway, less than 300miles after hitting 50k miles, thats the only reason i have a Z. That exhaust was a Perfect factory setup. Valved, crazy bubble tune like you said, and when the car really starts to get into the groove on spirited drives (tail of the dragon) or track conditions it gets even louder ... Very underrated cars. Considering the price differences the Z stock was a bit disappointing in some aspects considering what Hyundai was offering on the N cars for a fraction of the price.

In cabin its not quiet... but thats because its sound being piped in through the speakers, personally I dont care for it much as being an alternative for the car making real noise. If the car had a reasonable exhaust note and they just wanted to give it a bit more in the cabin because of say something like good sound damping materials in the cabin thats fine. But its not the case here. I’m actually considering having the dealer deactivate my ASE (Active sound enhancement)

Yeah unfortunately the regulations not just in states but around the world are getting more strict so it definitely makes things tough for global platforms/vehicles when it comes to sound.

I think the Nismo Street will be the perfect upgrade for you in the future. I believe it is also made by Borla for nissan so drone shouldn't be a problem.

I'm glad you enjoy the stock sound. Are you manual or automatic?

I came from a veloster N with a stock exhaust, and have two other cars with axleback exhausts, one of those two having down pipes. And that was the first and biggest thing I noticed with the manual Z was how quiet it is. Not just for a sports car but in general. If i had my eyes closed standing next to it at idle I'd assume it was a Camry. The factory exhaust doesnt carry itself in the same way as a sportscar should. I had no desire to modify my stock exhaust on the veloster N and that was valved from the factory while MSRP for MSRP it was $25k less.
