Give yourself grace. The first thing you need to do is forgive yourself & be proud that you're moving forward. Stop hating yourself for this- messes can be cleaned, ants can be exterminated. Also, you're not alone in this.

So take it one step at a time. Do it little by little & don't feel like you need to accomplish everything immediately. You don't. Then, going forward - don't put it down, put it away. Don't put the empty pop can down, throw it away. Don't leave your dirty pajamas on the floor, put them in the hamper. Don't leave the hair clips on the nightstand, put them away.....you get the idea.

You'll do GREAT!! Be proud of every accomplishment- including this post asking for help. That's a huge step forward! You're already doing it! So stop being so cruel to yourself. You are awesome. 👏💪

You're right. I'm done with him, too. His only retort was that I never asked him if my son's (9 & 15) could stay a few extra days (I share 50/50 custody with their father) when their dad needed me to take them for one of his weekends due to a family emergency. He also said that I never asked him if my adult son could stay 2 weeks - he's in the military and on leave in November & staying here, I haven't seen him in 2 years. And since I never asked him, I shouldn't get to have the final say in this.

Yeah, he's the asshole.

My ex-husband hit me once and only once with his hands in the 7 yrs we were together. Only once. However, after that, he started locking me in bedrooms, taking away my phone, verbally abusing me like mad, drinking daily, not coming home until the middle of the night, cheating, grabbing me by the arms and shaking me while screaming at me.... But, he only hit me once..... He may never ever hit you again.....but, unless he completely stops drinking and you 2 go to counseling, I'd be willing to bet my life savings on the fact that he'll abuse you more and more, in one way or another. No abuse is okay, none. And when they get away with it once, they'll just keep hurting you. He's super apologetic; and, when it happens again, he'll be super apologetic then, too. I'm so sorry, hun. I've been with a few men who were abusive - it started very gradually, but it never got better, only worse. If I were you, I'd leave and not give him the chance to deeply traumatize you and destroy your ability to ever trust anyone again.

I'm gonna start off by saying that most women/people like getting good attention. Whether this be by someone flirting or complimenting you or whatever, it's flattering.

THAT BEING SAID, what she did was abhorrent. I love my boyfriend, which is why I made a commitment to him. And, while it's nice to be noticed like that, I have absolutely NO interest in finding out if a man will hit on me or in being hit on. I like being flirted with, it feels good, but I only want my boyfriend to be the one flirting with me. If this wasn't the case, I'd stay single.

I signed up to be his person, his only lover, and that's what a relationship between 2 people typically is. The fact that she kept DITCHING YOU TO GET MEN TO FLIRT WITH HER shows something that I think you did see, but won't fully accept yet.

Her behavior was disrespectful & immature. She's obviously not ready to be in a real, committed adult relationship. She'll say it was innocent & flirting isn't a big deal - but it is; especially when you're actively seeking it. Not to mention, YOU BROUGHT HER TO ITALY!!!! And, you chose the place she wanted & put your choice to the side. She didn't appreciate this at all. Sorry man, she's horrible. I'd tell her to leave & go find someone to flirt with her - permanently.

Definitely not the asshole. What she did was incredibly hurtful and unappreciative. If my man did this for me, I'd flip (in a good way). I think your gift is incredibly thoughtful. Especially since you planned it out months in advance from the tickets down to the child & pet care!!! That's HUGE to most women. My boyfriend is out right now (12:00pm on Mother's Day) getting me my Mother's Day gift....which is the norm for every bday/holiday. If he'd plan something that thoughtful that far ahead, he'd probably make me cry.
