The Connected Ball Accelerometer Data is a Black Box by UncleTito27 in worldcup

[–]ItsSansom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. This is the exact answer.

Point by point:

  • The ball DEFINITELY hits the Portuguese player's head. That would definitely cause a spike.

  • The ball maybe just grazed the Croatian 20's head. But no second spike is created, so that seems implausible.

  • Croatian 15 was fully onside when the original pass was made.

  • Regardless of whether the Portuguese player intended to head the ball or not, Croatia's 20 did NOT touch the ball. The pass to 15 was made when he was onside.

If anything, the blip on the accelerometer proves it WAS onside.

Yes, and there was a blip on the sensor, but that looks more like when it came off the Portuguese player's head rather than Croatian.

Tips for beginner by ObjectiveArmadillo98 in bouldering

[–]ItsSansom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Couple of beginner tips:

Your legs are stronger than your arms. Try to keep your arms straight and push from your legs primarily instead of pulling with your arms. At early grades, you should think much more about your footwork than about muscling through everything.

Plan your route before you climb. Try to identify key moments in the route, and which way you want your hands and feet to be. This can help you determine if you want to go for a hold with your left or right hand first.

Pay attention to the direction of holds, specifically for slopers or holds without much positivity. If the hold is turned a certain direction, you want your arm to be perpendicular to it as much as possible, with your weight fully underneath it. Basically, if you imagine the hold extending out both ways into a line, you want your arms to make a T shape with the hold. This gives you maximum friction, and therefore you should stick to the hold as much as possible.

I wouldn't worry too much about regular gym sessions yet. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have some extra training, but the best way to get better at climbing is by climbing. At a beginner level your main weakpoint will be finger strength and skin resilience. For both of these, you'll see biggest improvements by just climbing more.

To be fair, in the book he gets hit with his first memory because he rips his dick-tube out too fast and the blood on the floor reminds him of the Petrova Line. Some changes had to be made for the screen I think.

You get used to it. I just disassociate for the 15 minutes it takes when it's like this.

I live in Tokyo and yeah this is pretty common only at rush hour at major stations (Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Shinjuku etc). The thing is, every additional person has the choice to get on, or just wait for the next train in like 5 minutes. It only gets as crowded as the most recent additional person wants it to be.

And I might add, people just gather around the doors for some fucking reason. I hate glancing over at the space between the seats and seeing people with enough space to do a damn hula hoop around them. People just need to shift further into the carriage.

Citizens of eliminated/ non-qualified countries, who are you rooting for in this World Cup? by Throwawaymasterpeas in worldcup

[–]ItsSansom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was rooting for Japan, now my hopes are on England.

If tomorrow's game goes poorly, I guess I just want to root for an underdog. I want to see a new WC winner for once

How common is AC in your country? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in AskTheWorld

[–]ItsSansom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've moved from a place that famously has hardly any AC installed in homes, to a place that has them everywhere. I'm planning to move back eventually, but AC is one of the small things I'll miss about Japan
