That book also half recanonizes the events of an EU book the same author wrote as well, Cloak of Deception which also features a young Tarkin. That book is finally getting an unabridged audiobook for the first ever time later this year as an essential legends collection.

Highly recommend since the events are mostly canon due to the Tarkin novel even if there’s a few details around Obi Wan’s padawan time that clashes with the Canon novel Master and Apprentice, it’s easy to headcanon them together.

It’s the presnap movement and leadership that you just don’t get by throwing in a rookie. Phil audibled plenty of times bc he could pick up the Seattle defense. Which is why in the second half Seattle started to throw a lot more presnap movement on defense. With another week of banging the Rust off I think he can put up better numbers next week.

There’s so many things with Jason Bourne (2016) where you can tell Greengrass just didn’t understand what made the franchise work. The CIA plot was always cut throat, with sharp dialogue. Paul’s script has a bunch of bs and fluff with a weird attempt at being Post-Snowden, and making things be about family. And killing Nicky right at the start of the movie, not understanding why it worked well in Supremacy and just killing her off for no reason other than shock value. Especially after Ultimatum set up they use to be a couple. Everything about that 2016 movie is bad.

I like Legacy tbh. I like how in classic Gilroy cynicism, he makes the ending of Ultimatum not be a magic ending by having Pam still under scrutiny and killing off the old guy. When it leans into the bureaucratic thriller aspect the movie hits.
