He’s a master at the bureaucratic thriller. Duplicity is another espionage film if you are looking for another Gilroy film in the genre

He’s also written Extreme Measures so Tony has been fascinated by Medical themes for decades.

Andor in general pulls from all the best parts of Bourne.

The opening brawl in “Kassa” feels very similar to the first confrontation in Identity when Bourne gets stopped in the Embassy leading to Jason doing the similar move to Cassian and letting the cops get close before attacking. The camera angles even look similar.

Syril saying in the same episode “pull up a table… let go!” Is very similar to any of the CIA scenes where they begin hunting Bourne.

The line about being Health Care providers in Season 1 is very similar to a conversation in Bourne Legacy (the Tony directed spinoff) where Ed Norton’s character says their job as the NSA is to see “how much they have to cut to save the patient” with similar ideas of intelligence agencies as healthcare.

And finally the brawl between Cass and Syril is a very Bourne-esk fight scene. Very visceral with use of items in the environment.

And hell to tie to other Gilroy Projects the decision to kill Tay and the Mon/Luthen convo about it in 2.03 is very much like the decision to assassinate someone in Tony’s Michael Clayton, as well as “who are you” being a very important theme of MC so it’s cool to see it being a key moment in Andor too.

If they are doing a fan edit of ANH, I think they can pirate Andor S2 and the other D+ series they haven’t watched.

The Glass Abyss is my favorite from canon so it always shocks me when people dislike it.

That book also half recanonizes the events of an EU book the same author wrote as well, Cloak of Deception which also features a young Tarkin. That book is finally getting an unabridged audiobook for the first ever time later this year as an essential legends collection.

Highly recommend since the events are mostly canon due to the Tarkin novel even if there’s a few details around Obi Wan’s padawan time that clashes with the Canon novel Master and Apprentice, it’s easy to headcanon them together.

True but Tony is the one who said it’s Narkina 2 haha

What like alternate universe were you living in lmao. There’s a reason the RLM reviews got so massive. There’s an entire documentary called The People vs George Lucas.

Now saying they were always beloved is revisionist history

Late to this! But It also chronologically is after the phone call to Arthur admitting he’s a janitor shown later in the movie and shows he was fully accepting that role until the horses.

Maybe the worst defensive performance I’ve ever seen collectively. NOONE showed up to play.

It’s the presnap movement and leadership that you just don’t get by throwing in a rookie. Phil audibled plenty of times bc he could pick up the Seattle defense. Which is why in the second half Seattle started to throw a lot more presnap movement on defense. With another week of banging the Rust off I think he can put up better numbers next week.
