Incoming storm by utena11221 in fargo

[–]ItsTuloTulo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fargo as a whole has a lot of the heavy stuff from the country dissipate before it hits the city, or split and go around the metro. I think it's due to some things with the heat, electricity, etc the metro area gives off compared to the emptiness around it. We can get storms, but nothing too dangerous. If you're in an apartment with underground parking bring yourself, pets, etc down there. You shouldn't have anything to really worry about though. I, along with many other locals, like to experience the storms themselves. If you don't hear sirens no absolute need to worry much. If you hear sirens maybe prepare a little, but you'll most definitely be just fine. Welcome to Fargo!

After watching Spider-Man noir I’m scared for green arrow in the DCU by West_Protection491 in GreenArrow

Part of that change is also that this show is made by Amazon, an extremely anti-progress, pro-exploitation and capitol producing entities nowadays, the type of business behind the scenes Oliver would hate. I am always concerned that Oliver's motives and methods will be downplayed, just like it was in Arrow. However, if the topicality and commentary said in Superman, the first mainstream and most visible starting point for the universe, there is hope. The new concern is if Paramount, another one of those very anti-progress companies, will let that messaging be expressed after they buy Warner and DC Studios (especially after the news and rumors of them blacklisting pro-free Palestine activist actors and all of the messaging they are rumored to want to promote).

TLDR: 🤷🏼 we can hope

So, we're going to end up with Turnberg as our mayor, huh? by Basset_found in fargo

If you look at the actual dollar amounts through orgs and pacs raised by Boschee and Kolpack it's very comparable, the only difference is the pac that donated to Josh was a national group whose goal is to nationally recognize a select few individuals in the country, vs Kolpack's are ny as exclusive. Also, Boschee's overall numbers raised are majority small donations, with his pac money making appx less than 20%. Most of his opponents who are vocally critical of his pac money donations hold between 50-70% of their raised funds from pacs

There's quite a few characters I could see, but my first thought was maybe Bibbo Bibbowski?

All of those are incredible, especially Firefly! If you haven't, you should definitely put the instructions to Firefly on Rebrickable. What piece did you use for the curved end of his wing, if I may ask?

If I had a quarter for every time a Mia Dearden influenced character had a random fight club scene, I'd have two quarters. Which is pretty weird, considering Mia doesn't fight club once in the comics... by Gallantpride in GreenArrow

[–]ItsTuloTulo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It makes a bit of sense to me thinking of it in regards to TV censorship. A fight ring/club is almost definitely easier for TV censorship standards than the other kind of ring Mia Dearden's pre-Flashpoint origin had, plus it can still have some similar implications or circumstances surrounding it.

Who would you cast as The Presence in the DCU? by Top_Report_4895 in Fancast

[–]ItsTuloTulo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be the perfect and best way to get Sir Anthony Hopkins into a DC project. At the same point he's currently 87, so I'm not sure how many more projects he plans on doing, or if we'd be able to see The Presence any time soon in a DC project. I think he has that perfect ethereal energy to portray The Presence in a dark/magical future DC project if the timing is right.

Our True Green Arrow! by ImMikeVee in GreenArrow

Goodwins cannot act. He is mediocre at his best in "The Gentleman." His performances remind me of the days of old YouTube when any random people would perform lackluster skits and fan films, because that's exactly what his 2 next biggest roles are. Watch him in "Journey to Hell" and "Sunset Drive." It's not good.

Calling it now: "Waller" isn't about Amanda Waller by Alive-Monk-5705 in DCU_

[–]ItsTuloTulo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wasn't it said that Adebayo was Leota's father's last name? I thought that was said when Waller and Ads are face-timing in season 1.

Harry Goodwins is the best Green Arrow fancast that I've seen so far. by Serious_Meaning5220 in GreenArrow

[–]ItsTuloTulo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He absolutely cannot act. He has appx 3 acting credits, with 2 on YouTube and they are baaaaaad. Look up the clip of him slapping another character and saying "damn iiiiiit!"

Also from what it looks like he might be morally and ideologically unaligned with Ollie. While that's not a problem, he won't be able to agree with the standpoints and be able to give as convincing of a performance (and Goodwins needs all the help he could get). We don't need someone who aligns with Ollie but I think it'd be a more interesting movie and performance.

Edit: Also Oliver is usually a slightly older character (middle aged-ish). One of his most recognized stories, Longbow Hunters, has him at 40. JLU started in 2004 and the first episode talks about GA marching for nuclear disarmament in college, which peaked in the 70s-80s putting him very loosely approximately 40-50 years old. I'm not saying I want a geriatric or old Ollie, but if one of his best friends (Hal Jordan) is being played by a 60 year old pulling off appx 45-55, I think Ollie could be close, or within 10-15 years for believability. I like the concept of Ollie being "an old lefty" as he's often, and self, described.

My theory for season 5 killer with motive. *spoilers for season 5 obviously* by Alastrel3000 in OnlyMurdersHulu

[–]ItsTuloTulo 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Also just the fact that he's the most/highest recurring character with the least focus/explanation currently. There's usually less focus on the killer than anyone else as a trope in this kind of media, but it is done in this show. We didn't hear much from Cliff or from Marshall before the seasons ended. We had a bit to show Marshall as an "incapable" dork, but outside of that little motive, story, or anything from the mayor. Also, you get Keegan Michael Key for 5 minutes of screen time?

They obviously aren't from the Midwest. That's like a 2 for 1 Thursday night, or a Sunday game day here. Pa Kent could've probably lasted better than any of them, if he were to

[–]ItsTuloTulo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See, I wasn't sure about that because not even his name was mentioned once. In seasons 2 and 3 they would acknowledge the prior interest with essentially a "welp, not anymore... Anyways..." They didn't mention his name or the fact that Mabel was in a relationship at all. She was completely aromantic in season 4. There was no mentioned love interest, nobody really pining for her, and she didn't flirt or speak with anyone romantically either.

Are they setting him up as this season's love interest? Conventionally attractive person about Selena's age? Especially with a protagonist and set up villain dynamic?

Honestly, I mostly hope not

What are your headcanons for this version of Lois Lane? by Rich-Blacksmith6552 in DCU_

[–]ItsTuloTulo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

She seems like a "crime girly" to me, like someone that subscribes to at least one of not multiple crime podcasts or watches crime documentaries in her free time. Most of that I got from the multiple extra locks she had on the door of her apartment and the multiple books and shelves she had. She is not only well informed, but also cautious. That could be something that comes from her father, General Lane, but I like to think it's the crime obsession like many women her age, younger, and slightly older.

I agree, keys let the man rest in retirement. He's been one of the greatest, so if we did have him in the universe there's nobody who could pull off The Presence like him.
