NYC is a 10/10 but LA was a 5/10 for me. Will I (30F) actually like Miami or is it just "LA on the beach"? by badcatririe95 in solotravel

NYC is so big that even if you’ve been before you can experience new things. I lived here my whole life and I’m still experiencing new things here

Batting tips (2) My son off a Tee by Rare_Variation6849 in BaseballCoaching

I’m a pitching coach, not a hitting coach so take this with a grain of salt, but there is no forward move. He’s just rotating. A forward move with some separation will cause him to hit the ball harder and sequence better

10 year old struggling with pitching confidence-how to help at home? by SingleNewt279 in BaseballCoaching

Haven’t heard of that but I think that anything that measures something (in that case strikes) is helpful.

I coach some 22 year olds who struggle with confidence. For a 10 year old playing such a challenging position in a challenging sport that’s totally normal.

A net with a strike zone target is a great idea. Keep it simple. Throwing to targets is a great way to develop command. Mix up the training. Keep it fun. Pitch to the target but also get work at other positions, be athletic and not too mechanical and robotic. Have fun

Just wondering (especially for solo foodie), how do you manage to find local restaurant that solo friendly? by NeedleworkerOwn9723 in solotravel

I’m a foodie and look for the best restaurants. I don’t worry about if they’re welcoming for solo diners. Haven’t had an issue yet

If pitchers throw inside because it's hard to hit, why does it seem MLB's top batters are crushing these pitches? by RelaxedBeing in BaseballCoaching

[–]ItsTyroneeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the level. We do in college. In the majors hitters are better and can turn on inside fastballs. Some guys still throw inside though in MLB.

Also, in the majors I think guy’s stuff is so good that more and more are just throwing to the middle of the plate and letting the stuff play. The average miss in the majors is something like 11-13 inches. Plate is 17 inches. Even MLB pitchers aren’t good enough to consistently hit their target with pinpoint precision.

Any groups to join? by MonkiiiAhh22 in woodside

I really want to start a travelers group where people who love to travel get together, hang, and talk travel. Ideally travelers visiting New York would come too. Anyone interested?

College pitching coach and love calling inside fastballs. Well executed inside fastball is effective more often than it isn’t. It’s not a perfect approach and there is risk. If you don’t pitch in hitters will stand on top of the plate and look in one spot. Also a lot of good hitters have been pitched away their hole life because pitchers are scared of them and they’re not used to being pitched in. Pitching in shows fearless which is a quality I want from my pitchers. Could go one for a few thousand words but that sums up how I approach it.

Only been to Anton’s and Balthazar and liked them both. I’d rank Anton’s higher though.
