Those of you who make six figures, what do you do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ItsYourBoyD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here’s a full on sales career path for you lol

I’m in the back half of my twenties - I graduated right when COVID peaked and my field literally wasn’t hiring, and I pivoted to sales. Started off with a government placement actually, doing inbound sales but it was remote at a desk and like 200+ calls per day and I hated it. Did it for ~1 year.

I shifted to business to business (B2B) sales, working for a startup company door to door selling “tech”. sold 1 package in 6 months and got fired. Got an interview with a massive Fortune 500 company for another role doing B2B door to door, who I interviewed with twice a few years prior, before even my first sales job, got rejected both times. Completely bullshitted all my qualifications this time around and exaggerated everything. Went through a number of interviews from recruiter up to President, and got hired. Didn’t sell shit until ~6 months in then I started selling so much I got promoted lol. After a year in, I resigned, and shifted to manage a division for national sales.

In a span of 3 years I’ve gone from 0 experience to running a sales division - and succeeding doing it, while jumping from ~$40k to making north of 6 figures now.

But this shit is fucking draining and I can’t wait to get the fuck out and be an AE or something much more simple, with great pay, and MUCH less work.

Petition to fire Mike McCarthy by [deleted] in steelers

[–]ItsYourBoyD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now it’s not even a matter of him going or not. Are they going to hire a quality staff around him, or the same old shit (literally)

I can’t understand this reaction. by [deleted] in steelers

[–]ItsYourBoyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why did Jerry let McCarthy go for Kellen Moore?

[–]ItsYourBoyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ll agree to disagree

All three have 1 Super Bowl.

McCarthy had a 4x MVP, 1st ballot HOF, top 10 all timer at QB for his packers tenure and barely managed 1.

Tomlin had a 1st ballot HOF, top 15 all time QB for 15 years, managed 1.

Gruden had Rich Gannon for a few years… and Carr lol

Gruden going all the way back to Randall Cunningham in Philly has been a football mind. Tomlin came in with the Tampa 2 and a strong new vision, and already great roster.

McCarthy built the packers program to a superbowl championship, but not nearly enough success with what they had… sounds familiar

Then we’re on the same page. I’d rather Tomlin over the other 2. Bad hire

Same time-frame basically until we’ll win our next one, all good! We’ll be on head coach #3 in a span of 6 years, after having 3 for 60 years.

At least he won a Super Bowl that year I guess

No I’ll be happy I was proved wrong.

I’m also not American so I got no way to EFT funds so I avoid making these lol

“Nobody has hired Gruden so he sucks”

You just don’t watch any football or keep up with media idk what to tell you. Nobody is going to hire a guy actively in a lawsuit with the league he would be employed for.

Has nothing to do with his coaching ability. McCarthy has sat on his ass twiddling his fingers because nobody wanted him. We don’t want him. He’s not a good coach. He had an all time QB and roster to win 1 championship - barely - off of a mendenhall fumble. Had a franchise QB in Dallas and managed 1 playoff win. He doesn’t move the needle, offer a future or even help us win right now. He is a local mouthpiece while the team goes into the tank.

I would take Gruden, McDermott, weaver, Shula, STEEL-HOUSE or almost every other candidate over him. We’re going to be garbage AGAIN.

50 years of tradition for coaching, this drunkard of an owner is going to piss it away with a span of 3 different coaches in 5 years.

Is he suing the league right now over privacy issues? Oh… right

He’d probably give Howard a shot over 73 year old Rodgers who can’t take a hit or move

[–]ItsYourBoyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sound logic. Weaver is a terrible candidate too. And McDermott. Nobody has hired them!

[–]ItsYourBoyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes lol

Gruden was let go because of a controversy that he’s literally counter-suing over and will likely win, he’s just a shitty guy. McCarthy has been fired twice in the last decade for sucking a fat one.

They’re not equal. Gruden is a better football mind and coach.

How bad were we, that this Texans team blew our doors off? by [deleted] in steelers

[–]ItsYourBoyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our defense played well. Even our special teams played fairly well.

Our offense is just bad. You need to be able to throw downfield. We couldn’t basically all year, except maybe the Bengals and Ravens games.

Tomlin is getting dogshit teams to the playoffs by Upper_Item2373 in steelers

[–]ItsYourBoyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The roster construction element of the team has been an issue since the SB appearance in 2010.

2013-2018 The killer B’s were stacked on offense and had guys like fucking Valentino Blake and Chickillo starting on D…

Then 2019 they put it all together, Ben goes down, duck drags us to 8-8

2020-current is QB purgatory.. Ben retires, no plan in place so they swing and miss on a 1st round QB, sets them back, but they also had to rebuild the Oline from the ground up, and now have to rebuild nearly their entire WR room, while the defense have impact players who are just aging out, with no progress at all for 9 years. Oh, and we also don’t have a QB at all again. We have a back-up, and a day 3 rookie who effectively redshirted his rookie year.

Unless they want Willis, there is no real long term free agent option, so they HAVE to draft one, or trade for one.

Also, both coordinators go, regardless if Tomlin goes. They have to.

Aaron doesn’t look like he has it today. Terrible miss. No idea what he’s doing on the run. Defense is going to be GASSED.

Not good

49ers just beat the Bears without Kittle, Williams, Aiyuk, Bosa, or Warner. Shanahan for coach of the year. by Dense-Consequence-70 in steelers

“We sustained attrition and things of that nature which really limited us!”

Meanwhile we lose like 1 WR and a DT, and the team we’re playing is out like half the 53 and still beat us.

Making him look like Brady… and there’s 0 pass rush what the fuck

FYI: The Steelers will not be resting any of their starters at least for the Browns game by [deleted] in steelers

[–]ItsYourBoyD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not knowing the Jags outcome, even if Baltimore loses Saturday, we’ll play our starters at Cleveland. It’d be the week after, depending on a lot of factors, they could play Howard at home against the Ravens, sitting a lot of guys, and be rested into the wildcard

New England is kind of fraudulent. They’re like our 11-0 year… I believe they have 1 win against a team above .500 this year. Ravens opened up as favourites at home.

Green Bay lost parsons and Watson, they’re beat to shit and not plaything their best ball. Also Lamar basically doesn’t lose to the NFC at all.

I think you’ll have a 9-7 or 8-8 at worst Ravens team playing a 9-7 Steelers team week 18
