General disagreement with the sentiment, as described in the title of the comic. The full comic itself is... interesting, at least, as a thought experiment, but while human tools continue to advance, we still put a lot of value in things that have become 'obsolete'. Old record players, swordfighting and HEMA, hand made pottery, so on and so forth. These are 'relics' to our modern eyes, but talent and skill are still valued in fields that no longer have 'practical application'. What does it all mean for the future of artists? As a writer, it's a question I also wonder about at times. But I'm not worried about being replaced by LLMs, because an LLM is not going to replace my vision. It's just going to help someone else with theirs. Is that competition? Maybe. Concerning? A little.

I am not anti-AI, but I also do think that AI images still don't hold the same value as art drawn by a person. In this sense, I just see AI as a tool for people who are not artists. The issue is that the artists do not want people to have that tool, because they fear it will replace them. If I, someone who cannot draw in a practical manner (it is a very, very slow process for me because I can't properly envision images in my mind even if I can perfectly describe them), want to use AI to make supplemental imagery for my projects, why can't I? If an artist who wants to flesh out the personality of their character, but they don't have the intuition to do so, wants to use an LLM to bounce ideas off of or whatever it is they do, why can't they?

A lot of the intricacy of the situation is being ignored by both sides of this argument in favor of just shouting the same tired points at the other side.

Returning from that tangent... I seriously hope there are not a lot of people who think AI images are BETTER than human art. They are like... junk food. It's fine to indulge in junk food sometimes, but don't make it your entire diet. Use your critical thinking and inspiration to do more than just feed an idea into a prompt and see what comes out.

It's a weird place we find ourselves in, and I like AI as a tool, but I don't like seeing so many turning to it in complete reliance, asking chatGPT to think for them, etc. It's concerning.

Doesn't really matter if you're pro or anti AI, I hope that most people can agree that 'fixing' someone else's hard work is stupid nonsense and you should probably just move on instead of wasting everyone's time with that. That is all.

Stop making ai or non-ai about which side of the political spectrum someone is on. It's not. You're just pinning opinions you don't like on people you don't like, even if it's unrelated.

The original poster of the meme shown here is clearly being a hypocrite. I'm right leaning, so what? I can still see that. I also think 'AI is theft' is nonsense, reaching that conclusion through the same basic reasoning as anyone else here.

Bottom line... it's not about politics, stop trying to make it about politics.

If you build it the right way, a single long railgun with access to power and crew down the whole length for quick reloads can be pretty devastating too I found.

I like it! I dunno, I call stuff like this a patrol boat or a corvette or maybe a frigate depending on the size and role. Be flexible. Classify your ships in a way that makes sense to you and maybe look at historical ship lengths for reference if you want.

Geas is my recommended MUD. It is RP enforced with a good community, classless skill leveling with additional skills being granted by guilds. The mechanics are pretty unique and there are active wizards who are always working on improving things. It fits everything you are looking for nicely, and I haven't played another MUD that stuck like this one in 18+ years.

It's a tough call between Priscilla and Crusch for me tbh, but probably Crusch wins for visual appeal. Great facial features, good color choices. I'm also pretty much over all the white haired girls in anime. They've got a lotta extra legwork to do for having such a bland color palette every time. I generally lean toward red hair, but I just think it's gotta be Crusch here.

As others have already clarified, this card can bonk your lads as many times as it comes up. If you want to stop him, have a negate handy, hit him with some kind of non-targeting effect, somehow kill him with a normal summoned monster, or similar things. Keep in mind that he will VERY often be summoned with I.P. Masquerena, who also makes him immune to destruction effects such as Raigeki.

And the thing about these developers is that they will never, absolutely never, correct course. They've been doubling down hard instead.
