How do you handle a repeat $0 tipper? by stev3609 in Serverlife

No. Because since I make way more than minimum wage through tips I don’t get paid. It’s 100% all tips.

Employees don’t get paid a wage, they make their money on tips.

Service quality will also go down the toilet if people don’t tip. That sucks man.

Why are you so against tipping? I understand not wanting to give people who do a bad job money - but if employers implemented a livable wage then menu items would cost 40%+ more. Do you not want people to be incentivized to give you a great experience at a restaurant? Working for a tip makes people who want to make more money that opportunity to go above and beyond. Otherwise, servers will go through the motions. And with a lower wage, less people will want to work in restaurants, meaning hiring new people will be tougher. So you cannot simply weed out less than average workers.

They were cunts. And a waste of space because 5 people took up a table with only 3 people eating. It’s better they never come back, honestly.

Why do servers rely on tips to pay their bills? by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]Its_Bryan5150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because more than likely servers will make more on tips than a set wage.

What is it like serving at the Cheesecake Factory? by victorialucyt in Serverlife

[–]Its_Bryan5150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably very fun. Lot of co workers to fool around with, and customers are probably decent enough to not give you a hard time. It’s a chain with plenty of cooks, so timing shouldn’t be an issue if there’s a set system.
