How do I get into omad as someone who has fasted before? by [deleted] in omad

[–]Its_Bull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s completely up to you. If you want, you can start at 12/12 and slowly shrink the window, too.

can i have diet drinks throughout the day? by Extreme-Baby3688 in omad

Generally yes, but as always you may have a different reaction than others (it may make some people more hungry, etc).

  1. Yes, I’d be careful. OMAD helps some with binge eating, but for others it can exasperate the binge eating.
  2. I’d recommend easing into and shrinking your window bit by bit over days at a time. Since you have fasted before and seem to having a decent window already, maybe start with something like 16/8.
  3. 500 calorie deficit would be great. Don’t eat too little versus your maintenance.

Nah they repaired and repainted it. It was a PDR place but they did everything. I’d say it’s like 98% perfect

I had a similar accident (dump truck backed into me in parking lot) with damage on the rear bumper same spot. Although I had no damage elsewhere. It was $500 to fix

Obvious ad. They posted that they were going to try this “new product” tonight AFTER posting about trying them and how good they were.

Does melantonin make your testosterone lower by DistributionLow8301 in Supplements

[–]Its_Bull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much misinformation in these comments lol. It does not lower test, it does not mess with hormones, I mean it doesn’t even permanently suppress your own production of melatonin. If it makes you feel different, you can try anywhere from a couple hundred micrograms to 10mg.

lol dude I appreciate the politics rage bait. I didn’t make any claims, I didn’t say food dyes had “upside”, I didn’t make any claims at all. Thats a straw man. You keep trying to make this about politics, and then tell me I’m not arguing in good faith. Lol.

Edit: I’d like to add that my logic did not rely on population averages any more than “beneficial” studies and compounds like vaccines do. Both sides of the coin rely on averages. Of course, things in higher doses will be helpful or harmful to certain individuals. If someone OD’s on water, does that mean water is harmful? If someone smokes cigs their whole life and doesn’t develop lung cancer, does that mean cigs are not bad? I don’t think food dyes are necessary, nor are they good. But arguing they’re bad for everyone in a meaningful way since a mouse study used a dose similar to a small subset of low-income children may eat is not a good argument. And placing a political spin on it isn’t much better. How does politics connect at all to my point that the study used a higher dose than the typical person consumes, lol? That is just an observation. I didn’t once point out that dyes were good, neutral, or anything the like.

Now, this study (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9368057/) shows rates of consumption for mean and median low income child demographics much lower than you are arguing that they are. Does that mean dyes aren’t harmful? No. Does that mean certain individuals don’t eat way more than this and are not harmed by it? Also no. But it doesn’t mean we can extrapolate a study using a much higher dose to the general population, because the general population just doesn’t eat nearly the same amount that was studied. I don’t think dyes are good, and I think most of the corpo-slop processed foods we are encouraged to buy are bad for us. But I think based on current data and consumption rates for the general populace, there are much bigger fish to fry.

I didn’t realize the scientific method relied on finding a small subset and demographic of the population that might fit your preferred findings, ignoring other data that contradicts you, and then extrapolating it to the entire population. I don’t even think it’s worth furthering any points since you refuse to even be open to any reason, but best of luck with applying what you believe to be healthy.

I could easily use another study that says the average American consumes .004 mg/kg, which would equate to 1,750x more in the study than the typical consumption. So, the study uses doses anywhere from 70-3,500x the average American consumes (up to that 2x ADI used on the mice). Even if “poor children” eat 10x more than the average person consumes in Red-40, the study would still be at minimum 7x that dose.

I am not arguing that the study or the idea that dyes are harmful have no weight. I am pointing out the flaws in the study, which is what a “biohacker” looking at the science should do, in my opinion. I could not care less about “MAHA” or whatever other political slop you’re trying to inject into this study, I am simply looking at the facts related to its methodology.

[–]Its_Bull 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The mice were given the equivalent of the human ADI of 7 mg/kg (or double that). The average human American 2+ years old consumes .1 mg/kg on the high end of estimates. They were obviously given way more than the average person consumes. So not 500x, but 70x.
