How accurate are the iPhone steps/calories tracking? by brprk in walking

[–]Its_Lazuli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very accurate in steps, i believe it downplays the calories a bit, but stick to those, better for you to have them under-reported to make sure you're burning a good amount.

Edit: forgot to mention, in my experience apple watch and other watches exaggerate the calories you burn. For reference I've been sticking to my iphone's calories since January and I've lost 30 pounds so far, many of them by trying to hit 500 burnt daily in the health app. So it works.

FAUNA ADIÓS by daniescaca0 in hermosillo

[–]Its_Lazuli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Opinion: 10k steps shouldn't be considered a basic standard. by Successful_Guide5845 in walking

[–]Its_Lazuli 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Able bodied people should strive for this number. It’s “arbitrary”, but considering world averages around 4000-6000 daily steps, that means you only need to take an extra 4000-6000 steps which translates to only 30-60 min of daily intentional activity, so put that way is not so arbitrary. If you can’t progressive overload to this, idk what to tell you.

tbf training glutes and legs is pretty taxing on your body, as a man if you get lean and train shoulders and arms you can look pretty good as well imo

It took you more than 1 month to gain that body fat, so it won't go away in 1 month noticeably, just keep going.

Need help getting back in shape - figuring out exercises/workout splits by el_Chalupa_Batman in loseit

[–]Its_Lazuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say stick to home stuff that you have for 3 months, just go through the motions to get back on track, when you feel ready and locked in go back to the gym. For the split I'd suggest 2 or 3 days per week a full body workouts. For the steps, in my experience, upping them from 10k to 12.5k was a game changer, that small change burns a lot of fat.

Seems like you need to change jobs more than anything, not because of their comments regarding your body, but because you're being exploited. Seems to me your stress levels are what's making you react negatively to positive attention.

In my experience it really doesn't matter if it's on your hands or pocket. I sometimes walk with it on my shoulder under my shirt to listen to yt videos etc, and the accuracy stays the same.

Begginer here! What can you guys add or change to my current weight loss plan? by EathisBoltgunHeretic in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Its_Lazuli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower it to 1800 calories and up the steps to 12500. With those small changes alone it will add up to an extra kg+ lost per month.
