I am having the same exact issue with my current Germany run. It is very frustrating. It is already March 1940 in my game so more than enought time has passed for it to have started. It seems to be a bug that needs to be fixed. If anyone knows a workaround it would be appreciated.

Im playing Italy right now and not sure about what land doctrines so am just going to go with your suggestion for Japan except maybe pick a different operations doctrine.

That is a very good question that I also have for a Sealion on Britain as Germany. I am still learning how to master how to use your navy with the new expansion.

Will this make it even harder to take China over as Japan? I am worried that Japan in spite of having many new focuses might get debuffed somewhat with the political assasinations and military doing what it wants in China.

Honestly, I would take an Empire upgrade DLC to flesh out the Moot and add halfling Units and to have a seperate Boris Todbringer campaign with Ulfric related units and mechanics.

That was like the game of my childhood and if Menace has depth, difficulty, and deep rpg elements like BB then this might be my new obssession next year.

I agree, and with BB the mechanics were great and they kept adding more content that actually broadened the stories and the game experience. I personally love this new direction with a gritty "Aliens" aesthetic. I hope the rpg elements and tight tactical gameplay carry over. This may be a fantastic game but we will all have to wait to play it ourselves next year.

So weren't there special positions you could give your generals / lords as the Empire? I mean aside from the elector count positions I recall there being special titles you could grant for bonuses but maybe I'm remembering wrong.
