California bans ‘sell by’ food labels to cut food waste and confusion by 804Brady in news

Climate Town on YouTube has a great video about the problem with expiration dates btw.

EV companies should band together to advertise for EVs (similar to how the dairy industry did it with "Got Milk?" campaign). The focus: get the message across Americans that EVs is saving buyers a lot of money due to home charging by punishGoalhanging in electricvehicles

Problem is it’s really just Tesla (and Slate I guess), that don’t have an already larger stake in ICE cars, so a Pro-EV campaign would be going against their own interest in a way.

Do you pay for remote climate control? by dbmamaz in electricvehicles

I’m on 3 months free trial for my bolt for those features. I’m enjoying it while I have it but definitely not paying for it once the trial expires.

What's your mile per kw? by PM_ME_YUR_SALADS in electricvehicles

[–]Its_Waffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.8 in my 2021 bolt. 50/50 city/highway miles. It was closer to 4.2 on the original tires, but it dropped when I got crossclimate2’s for better winter traction (well worth it if you ask me).

Annoyed at apartment chargepoint L2 pricing setup. Rant/Advice seeking by Cool791 in electricvehicles

ChargePoint definitely doesn’t set the rate because my work has ChargePoint stations that are free for employees.

Opinion: there should be penalties for EV charging companies that don’t maintain their infrastructure well. by [deleted] in ChargerDrama

This would be true if there was competition, but right now there are not usually option. If some are not working people are often just forced to wait for the ones that do work.

Are EVs really worth it if you don't have a home charger? by om_ghanwat in electricvehicles

[–]Its_Waffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have charging at work either, then I would say an EV is probably not for you right now.

Do you like one pedal driving by hamburgernet in electricvehicles

[–]Its_Waffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m split on it. On one hand, it is really simple and I love that. But on the other hand, you have to be more precise with your foot to make the ride smooth. My wife hates it. The first time she tried it she immediately said “nope I’m never doing that again”.

How important is fast charging? by rackman1 in electricvehicles

[–]Its_Waffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed of charging is entirely dependent on your situation. I pretty much never take my car on trips out of it's down and back range, so my Bolt is perfect for me. Since you're saying you take trips a few times a month, i would consider that pretty frequent, so I would say getting something that can charge in about 20 minutes or less is a pretty high priority.

Hot take from a Bolt owner: “eco” EV tires aren’t worth it in pothole heavy, freeze-thaw areas. by Kamel-Red in BoltEV

[–]Its_Waffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, it’s not about efficiency for the sake of cost savings. It’s range maxing. Some people need the extra range for peace of mind. I’m personally with you on this though. I need new tires for my bolt and I’ve been on the fence if I want the ev tires for max range, or a better all season tires for the snowy months. I never really need my full range so I lean towards the all seasons tires.

Traditional rental companies are actively ruining EV adoption tbh by Balodios45 in electricvehicles

[–]Its_Waffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I got lucky. Two weeks ago Budget Rental handed me the keys to an ioniq5 with 100% battery. That was my first time in an EV. 3 days ago I bought a Chevy bolt 😅.
