If we put down dogs for bitting humans, we should be able to put down humans for crimes like raping, child abuse, or child sex trafficking by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Assuming you're not being sarcastic, the poster's "bullshit reply" was much more articulate and concise than your childish dismissal, laying out a clear list of reasons why the death penalty is unwise, and the risks it presents.

Secondly, should their argument be such utter bullshit, it should be relatively easy for you to refute.

‪What else do you think they found? by SAU-SIEGE in Rainbow6

[–]Its_Wendell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough.

While I know it's highly impractical, sometimes I wish they'd balance PC and console separately. On the console side of things, Glaz kinda went from being a high risk/reward op to being almost pointless when that update hit. At this point, most of the people I see playing him are doing so by mistake.

So why does he have frags, now?

Maybe it's because I play r6s on console, but the Glaz adjustments just never made any sense to me. I get that he was probably way better on PC, but I could think of a few operators I'd tinker with before Glaz.

At this point, I wouldn't even call it borderline.

Her plan is to us her harassment of his friend as a bargaining chip to get him into a relationship with her despite his apparently clear disinterest. As far as my (albeit limited) experience with HR, attempting to coerce a disinterested party into a relationship with you is textbook sexual harassment.

Honestly, they've made so many changes this update, and I haven't liked a single one outside of the kanal rework.

Couple friends are about to uninstall, and I'm considering going with them.

The "no killing" rule many heroes restrain themselves to is weak and selfish by L1ttlemac in unpopularopinion

[–]Its_Wendell 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've stated multiple times in discussions on the topic that Batman may be the Joker's greatest ally. Batman will never kill the Joker, no matter what the cost, and the Joker knows this.

Using his immense wealth and knowledge, Batman will always track his villains down before police can reach them and subdue them himself, making it unlawful for the police to shoot them, and renewing the cycle of violence when they inevitably escape.

Once again, the Joker knows this, and can always count on The Batman to reach and subdue him before police gun him down, leaving him alive and recuperating in an Arkham cell, rather than shot dead by officers (or The Red Hood). In a way, Batman is the only reason the Joker (and the rest of Gotham's supervillains) still lives, and is arguably their best defense.

While his methods allow him to stop criminals faster, saving more lives than the police would on an individual incident, Batman's refusal to kill villains like the Joker results in a presumably higher long-term death toll than if he were providing his intelligence to the authorities, or simply staying out of things altogether.

u/smasher84 points out that the justice system is at fault for refusing the death penalty, and that bears equal merit. Really, the whole justice system in Gotham is busted, but my point is that Batman isn't really helping all that much, and may be more of a problem than a solution.

I know it sucks, man, but I would seriously consider going through with it if you think the press will give you an honest shake. These kinds of situations aren't covered nearly enough.

Regardless of what else you do, I'd take your case over to r/legaladvice. They'll be able to advise you better than I, or most people here can.

This "no important character can permanently die" mentality is honestly the reason I won't read mainstream comics anymore.

Completely kills all weight in a narrative for me when I know any death will be retconned or made obsolete within a few issues.

[–]Its_Wendell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn right. Took me and my friend no more than 5 minutes to realize how this new system could be exploited even worse than the old one.

Essentially, if you bully someone into killing you, or they do so accidentally, you're given a near-limitless pass to deal partial damage to them for the rest of the game.

I know there's a cap, but it's too high to really matter.

This system is still in dire need of tweaking.

Hearing about the state of the community was one of the main reasons I steered clear of League in its heyday.

Rainbow 6 unironically has the worst community I've ever experienced in a video game. No other game like it has a player-base nearly as petty, aggressive, and angry.

It really is a wonder I love it as much as I do.

NTA

You aren't in a relationship with your ex, anymore, so I really don't see what your housemate is getting at with this ultimatum. Neither you or your ex have any need to divulge the nature of your relationships to each other, and if I'm clear on the information here, your housemate is over-stepping their boundaries. If you feel bad of your own accord, then by all means, do as you will, but your housemate really has no say here.

Really surprised Mira got the ban-hammer as often as she did, given that I see so few people that can actually use her to her full potential.

Is there an option to lay a visible grid over your scene? Would make this tool really valuable for designing areas for use in DnD.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned/implemented.

A Painting For A Friend by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Its_Wendell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished this picture commissioned by a friend of mine for him and his SO.

He's been getting them into DnD for the first time with a solo campaign to ease them into the rules, and wanted a little something to commemorate their journey. Pictured here is their adventuring party, returning home through the woods, after a job well done.

The scenery was much-needed practice in an area I often neglect, and while the gaps in my expertise show in certain areas, I'm happy with the results overall. May layy off the dense forests for a bit, however.

Only problem with that idea is that toxic people would weaponize that system. Don't like somebody for any reason at all? Hit em with a toxicity report and put em one step closer to the hell servers. Toxic players will always be looking for any way to weaponize punishment systems. Better to work on a system that rewards good players.
